Dalek Zippy
If you take out all the filters, and then ask Roy Skelton to do his Dalek voice, said Dalek voice really does sound an awful lot like Zippy. Which gave me the idea of replacing the Dalek dialogue from the generally patchy Destiny of the Daleks with stuff from Rainbow. Of course, Skelton put the same megalomaniac tendencies into both roles, although Zippy is arguably more sinister....
Zippy Race - gameplay
Zippy Race appeared along side Road Fighter on the same 31-in-1 cart that has been the basis for many of my recent videos. These were a hot item in Nova Scotia for a while. I mean, parents didn't know that multicarts were bootlegs or anything - they just knew that with 31 games there had to be something their kids liked. Zippy Race is a favourite of mine, I played it a lot along with Road Fighter. Both use similar principles though Road Fighter is harder out of the gate because it's extremely sensitive. Zippy Race, however, has additional CC's to play after you complete one. It gets _ridiculously_ fast. You'll notice the technique I perform by cutting my speed behind a car before passing. If you press A and B together on these early levels, you can travel at the same speed as the cars. They will not try to bump you if you try passing them at this point. Well, you'll see for yourself in the video. Enjoy!

If you thought that the cute looking puppets from your average TV show behaved well on other shows, think again. Zippy and George, from British children's TV show "Rainbow", talk dirty with Jim Davidson and Tommy Boyd. ADDITIONAL INFO: Incidentally, I just noticed the "NAFF" watermark on the corner; one would assume that this is from a Thames Christmas tape.

Rainbow 1972 - "Shapes" song with Bungle & Zippy
From the first episode, the superb song "Shapes" is performed for the second time, on this occasion by John Leeson's original wild-eyed Bungle, Zippy and Hugh Portnow- the composer of the song. Zippy has a touch of lock-jaw and Bungle's dancing is manic and to add to it he performs his verse in a style which may well have inspired Jack Nicholson's performance for The Shining.

Bit late but my tribute to Roy Skelton, voice of zippy (and George!) who deaded this year. Zippy was a hero of mine for the work he did as anti hero with a heart, and master of chaos. Supported by bill Callahan singing "too many birds".
Rainbow - Psycho Bloodbath Time with Geoffrey, Bungle, Zippy and George
Geoffrey makes Bungle, Zippy and George a nice hot bath, but Bungle has been in a high and mighty mood all day and thinks its all too babyish for him nowadays. Tempers flare as Geoffrey tries to make Bungle see sense and the giant bear refuses to have his bath towel removed and insists on having the bath to himself later. It all turns a bit unsavoury until Geoffrey calls time and puts them all to bed with a story.

"Persuasion" (deleted scenes)
(Disclaimer: I hope no one involved with the production of this film will be offended by my uploading these clips. I just thought I would do it as a service to their fans who, I think, will like the adaptation even more with the extra scenes.) When I heard that PBS was cutting seven minutes out of the new BBC production of Jane Austen's "Persuasion" I was not a happy camper. I decided to figure out what had been cut out and have managed to clip the main missing scenes together. Some other small bits were trimmed, but these are the ones I wish they had kept (particularly the conversations between Capt. Wentworth and Capt. Harville!!). Other scenes that were shortened include: - Lady Russell's first conversation with Sir Walter - Lady Russell's conversation with Anne (in Anne's room) about Capt. Wentworth - Mary's complaining about being ill when Anne first visits her - The dancing scene after dinner with the Crofts - Walking across the log and then walking across the field - Anne putting on her hat, getting ready to visit Mrs. Smith - Everyone getting seated at the concert at the Pump Rooms They also shortened Anne's runs through Bath trying to find Capt. Wentworth, and their first kiss was edited down as well. There are several versions of those sections on YouTube already, though, so I will not add them myself (hopefully I managed to get some of the same tags and they will pop up as similar vids).
