This past Wednesday April 11th, America's only Hard Rock and Heavy Metal award show took over downtown Los Angeles! The fourth annual REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARD SHOW presented by Epiphone® rocked out at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles. For the first time ever, the event was broadcast live in its entirety on Xbox LIVE, as well as on the Xbox and Revolver Facebook pages. Prior to opening the awards show with his infamous rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner", guitar icon Yngwie Malmsteen graced the "black carpet" with his old school Metal vibe and we had the chance to chat with him. Some say that Yngwie comes across as a douche, we beg to differ! What a nice guy! Here is our interview with Yngwie at the 2012 Revolver Golden Gods Awards.

This exciting technique is influenced by the baroque music of JS Bach and creates a very flowing guitar sound. The technique required to play this lick is pretty straightforward, it just may take a little while to get the coordination down with all the alternate picking across strings. Start slow then work it up to speed just like you would with any other guitar lesson. Also, even though Yngwie usually plays this type of lick at extremely fast speeds, it also sounds quite beautiful when played slowly. So you should also experiment with it when playing melodic melodies in your improvisations. Yngwie Johann Malmsteen (English pronunciation: /ˈɪŋveɪ ˈmɑːlmstiːn/ ING-vay MAHLM-steen; born June 30, 1963) is a Swedish guitarist, composer, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader. Malmsteen became known for his neo-classical playing approach in heavy metal music which became a new musical style in the early 1980s. He is considered by many to be one of the most technically gifted rock guitarists of all time and is considered to be a pioneer of shred guitar.
