Paul McCartney performs his song "Yesterday." According to the Guiness Book of World Records, "Yesterday" is the most covered song ever written, with over 3000 different versions. McCartney thought of the melody in his head during a dream and wanted to record it. However, he wasn't sure if he had thought it up himself or if he was just remembering something he had heard before. After a few weeks of asking around, he determined that he had written it himself and the band recorded it on June 14, 1965. It was the number one song in the US for a month starting on October 9th (John Lennon's birthday) and continued to be the most played song on the radio for eight consecutive years after its release. John Lennon Tribute - Yesterday
This video is in honour of John Lennnon, God rest him, who would be celebrating his 68th birthday tomorrow (October 9th). It just includes pictures of him hanging out with the band and his manager to show the BROTHERLY* relationship he had with them. He is greatly missed. Rest in Peace Mr. Lennon. PS. I know 'Yesterday' wasn't sung by John, but I just thought it was a suitable song. * - notice I wrote BROTHERLY.
