1st Performance - The YellowJackets - "Wavin Flag" By K'Naan - Sing Off - Series 3
This is the yellowjackets 1st performance on the 3rd series called Wavin Flag by K'Naan, and this seems like another great group who we should watch out for, though many male groups this year...i'm sure some will get cut a long the way since i sense a strong female contender group this year! B+

Yellowjackets
This video features a hands-on look at the inside of a Yellowjacket colony. Yellowjackets are a common wasp, their life cycle is one of complete metamorphosis. The video shows eggs, larva, pupa and adults in the colony. This video is suitable as a resource for teaching about insects and insect life cycles.

3rd Performance - YellowJackets - "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" By Jersey Boys - Sing Off - S3
A much better performance here than their first song. I really think they need to choose the right singers for the right songs and i know they want to give everyone a chance to have a lead but if they do, they should pick the right singer for the right song. As for this one, their personal best imo! even if they kissed up to a judge in the end lol. and is it me or does the lead singer look like Spencer Pratt? B+
Indivisible - Yellowjackets
Celebrating thirty years as a group, the Yellowjackets, live in Milan, 2010, performing Russell Ferante's "Indivisible." The original group, called The Robben Ford Group, was formed in 1977, and consisted of Robben Ford, Russell Ferrante, Jimmy Haslip and Ricky Lawson, all top-notch LA session musicians. Ford had originally assembled the group to record Inside Story, but signed to a separate record contract, ended up listed as a guest artist. Eventually he was replaced by saxophone and EWI player Richard Elliott, who appeared only on the "Mirage a Trois" album, before switching places in 1984 with alto saxophonist Marc Russo, who had been in the seminal R&B band Tower of Power. Ricky Lawson left in 1986 to tour with Lionel Richie. Some of their songs were featured on The Weather Channel's Local On The 8s segments -- the Ferrante composition, "Matinee Idol," being the most well-known. Founded in 1981 as a jazz-fusion band that starred guitarist Robben Ford, the group's sound became more R&B-oriented after Ford's departure, with Marc Russo's crisp alto saxophone sound and soaring high-register solos. With original members Russell Ferrante on keyboards and electric bassist Jimmy Haslip, in addition to drummer William Kennedy, the band found its own R&B-ish sound, sometimes playing original compositions that sounded like Joe Zawinul at his most melodic. Starting out on Warner Brothers in the early '80s, the Yellowjackets moved to MCA/GRP in 1986, where they released a string ...

Hungry Ant Vs Hungrier Bees (Yellow Jacket Wasps). Attack!!!
The Bees are actually WASPS (yellow jackets). Courtesy of the very concerned viewers of this video. You are all very interesting and have a great sense of humor. Love the comments. Again for those of you who don't understand why I have kept bees in the title: Exposure. Type in Bee in the search, then type in Wasp. There are more results for bees. And more searches. Thus for reasons of exposure, I have CHOSEN to leave "Bees" in the title, while clarifying in the description. If this is a very difficult concept for some to grasp (or who may perhaps be too concerned as to the impropriety of the misinformation, and eager to correct it, to read the description), I have updated the title. Enjoy.
When Bees Attack. Yellow-jackets. Shocking Video
Very aggressive Yellow-Jackets. These bees attacked the camera for over 30 minutes. Provoked only by rustling leaves.
Yellow Jackets attack chicken
I shot a backyard wildlife video of some hungry Yellow Jackets (Dolichovespula Maculata). A couple scraps of raw chicken and it was a Wasp feeding frenzy. The video was shot with my Panasonic hmc40. The music is original Mingus O'Bannon compositions.
Yellowjackets - Why Is It?

The Yellowjackets - Navajo
The first time I heard this track it frightened me. The rhythm section of Haslip and Kennedy are aggressive, driving and relentless. They just wont let up. Even Mintzer's bass clarinet tone is somewhat darker than usual. Thankfully, Ferrante's solo provides a brief relief, but even that mutates into something menacing. Technically it's brilliant, and technically it's from a Bob Mintzer album.
Yellowjackets: Casino Lights (Montreux Jazz Festival 1981) 1 of 2
This is a rare video of Yellowjackets at the 1981 Montreux Jazz Festival. The performances from this were released on the "Casino Lights" albums back in the early 80s. Personnel include Russell Ferrante on keyboards, Jimmy Haslip on bass, Ricky Lawson on drums, and the great Robben Ford on guitar. This was videotaped from a European television broadcast in 1981, so quality is early VHS at best. Part 1 of 2.

It looks like they're back to the being a good performing group as opposed to having power vocals...i would have to say it's about on par with their taio cruz one from last week. These guys can perform the hell out of anyone though lol..but i have a feeling they'll be "ontherocks'd"eliminated sometime...B-

Bob Mintzer's EWI Adventure: Yellowjackets LIve in Jacksonville, 1993
EWI (an acronym for electronic wind instrument) is the name of AKAI's wind controller, an electronic musical instrument invented by Nyle Steiner. The early models consisted of two parts: a wind controller and a synthesizer. The current model, EWI4000S, combines the two parts into one, placing the synthesizer in the lower section of the controller. It uses the Boehm fingering system and is designed to be similar in action to a soprano saxophone, although players familiar with the clarinet should have no problem adjusting to the fingering; the EWI instruments can also be played with a simpler fingering system that recorder players can play with very little adjustment. Modern instruments also can be switched to flute, oboe and even brass instruments fingering modes.[1] Like a soprano sax, it is straight, and is held in front of the body with a neck strap. The major manufacturers of wind controllers are Akai and Yamaha. Available models include the AKAI EWI3020, AKAI EWI4000s, AKAI EWI USB, Yamaha WX5, Yamaha WX11, Yamaha WX7, and Synthophone. There is also a controller intended to be played by brass instrumentalists called an EVI (for Electronic Valve Instrument) also invented by Nyle Steiner. The Akai EWI4000S has a special EVI mode that allows brass players to play the EWI. More info on the EVI fingering system. There are also homemade and experimental EWIs with different designs. The wind controller part of the EWI has a mouthpiece with sensors for air pressure (volume ...
