Yellow Drum Machine bass drum stick

This is just a quick closeup video of the bass drum stick in action. I am working on an Arduino powered version of the Yellow Drum Machine. More videos will follow to show the completed autonomous robot.

Revenge of the Yellow Drum Machine (Arduino)

This is a higher quality video of the robot. There is more description of this project at Let's Make Robots site : letsmakerobots.com Frits Lyneborg first described the project on the LMR website, which he hosts. He also wrote an in-depth article in Make magazine volume #27. My version has adapted his BASIC code for a Pic microprocessor to run on an Arduino clone. The robot has a PING sonar sensor, a CDS photocell, and a ZX-Sound Board I built from scratch as inputs. Based on the inputs, the robot plays different "songs" which are in the code. Frits used rather expensive geared pager motors from Solarbotics. I used solenoids from a surplus company instead. They are much cheaper, but need a powerful battery to drive them.

Yello Drum Machine high quality video

I am working on an Arduino version of Frits Lyneborg's Yellow Drum Machine. I have substituted cheap solenoids for the more expensive Solarbotics geared pager motors. The robot is not yet complete. I have run into a problem attaching the recorder/playback unit. I will update the video when I have a complete robot working.

EKO ComputeRhythm drum-machine from 1972 (demo 1)

This is a pretty rare drum machine manufactured by EKO in 1972 in Recanati, Italy. Model ComputeRhythm, maybe one of 15-20 ever made (curiously SN #0113). This particular one is owned by a musician living in Spain, and It was repaired and slightly modified by me on the past months (www.synthoma.net). Before giving back to its owner I have the chance to made these demonstration videos to show its features and incredible programing methods. Due to the price it was mainly used by famous electronic musicians like Jean-Michel Jarre and Manuel Göttsching (founder member of Ashra Tempel). JM Jarre has used it extensively on his first albums: "Oxygene" and "Equinoxe". It can be seen on his Equinoxe 5 videoclip from 1978 (at 0:36): www.youtube.com Please, enjoy this first demo, and sorry about the poor quality video. It was made by a webcam. However, the audio was taken directly from the mixer.

Little Drum Machine - Motor Test

A work-in-progress shot of my new project. I liked the Yellow Drum Machine so much that I decided to make one for myself. This is just testing the motors. See the rest of my robots at letsmakerobots.com

Yellow Socks

This was inspired by a girl who wore yellow socks, otherwise it's completely fictional like all my songs. My multitrack was a 4-track Tascam 244 Portastudio, mixed onto a Revox PR99 reel-to-reel recorder. Rock Band Drum Set into a REAL Drum Set Hack!

READ HERE 4 LINKS & INFO! Please watch the video, then read here. It will make your life ALOT easier. I hope you enjoyed my video! Now if you want to really do this, it is very simple. First you need to go to: www.andrewrudson.com Click 'Drum Machine' on the left, scroll down till you see the words 'installer' in a yellow color. Click it, depending if you have a Wii or Xbox 360 (refer to video). Install it, and you will have Drum Machine. But you are not done! You need to download the Xbox 360 controller driver. www.versiontracker.com Download now should be on the right side. Download/install that, then plug in your Rock Band drum set, windows should automatically install the hardware (provided you are using a non-bootleg version) Now that you have Drum Machine, and Xbox controller you need the .dll file to run it, cause windows is gay and doesn't love you. www.microsoft.com After that, you can open your Drum Machine and rock on! \m/ Music By: Aerosmith - 'Walk This Way'

Arduino Drum Machine Demo #3

UPDATE: Product is released! Follows us at beat707.com ------------------------------------ The first hardware prototype is shown running at Rugged Circuits' labs with Wusik.com drum sequencer software. Just a couple of bugs to iron out pushbutton debouncing and getting the LED's to travel the right way. Normally the sequence is sent out to the MIDI OUT port, but we don't have a MIDI synth here. In this demonstration the sequence is sent over the USB port instead and fed into a soft synth (Wusik.com's own Wusik Station) using the MIDI-OX MIDI Yoke software and SpikenzieLabs Serial-MIDI Converter. This software-based replacement for a true low-latency MIDI port peripheral is what is causing the occasional lags and note dropouts. Follow us on Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com

Seasick Steve - Yellow Dog

When Seasick Steve was four years old, his parents split up. An old man from Mississippi, called KC Douglas, who wrote the song Mercury Blues and used to play with Tommy Johnson, taught him to play guitar at age 8. He left home at 13, and spent many years living on the streets in the States. He used to travel long distances by hopping freights as a hobo. Before becoming a professional musician, he went through several jobs, including being a carnie, cowboy and a migrant worker. In the sixties he started touring and performing with fellow blues musicians, and in the nineties he worked as a recording engineer and producer. He travelled extensively, living in 56 different houses in the 25 years of marriage with his Norwegian wife. Recently, he has stayed in Norway, after a recent heart attack made him consider staying in one place. After moving to Norway, Steve came out with his first album, entitled "Cheap", recorded with a Swedish band called The Level Devils as his rhythm section. His debut solo album, "Dog House Music" was released by Bronzerat on 26 November 2006 His first UK television appearance was on Jools Holland's 'Annual Hootenanny' BBC TV show (Broadcast on New Year's Eve 2006) where he performed a live rendition of "Dog House Boogie" on the 'Three Stringed, Tranz Wonder' and 'The Mississippi Drum Machine'. After that show his popularity suddenly boomed, as he explained in an interview: "I can't believe it, all of the sudden I'm like the cat's miaow!" He has ...

Roland CompuRhythm CR-78 Demo

Brief demo of some of the features on the Roland CR-78 drum machine. Mostly playing around with rhythm selections (incl. A/B variations), voice cancel, tempo, automatic fills, automatic fading, etc. And of course no CR-78 demo would be complete without playing "In the Air Tonight" and some Hall & Oates ("Kiss On My List"). The former uses the "Disco-2" rhythm with snare cancelled out; the latter uses "Rock-1" with automatic fill 7. On a side note, I haven't found any permutation of rhythms to give the exact bass drum pattern on "In the Air Tonight". Maybe this is how Phil did it as well, but I just used the programming interface to make a custom rhythm with this bass drum pattern. Then I load this at the same time as "Disco-2" (these are the two yellow buttons pressed in the demo).

Monkey MASH the YP.

How it was made...Me and a mate stripped an old yamaha drum machine for its contact strips. We used them to trigger beats. We also stripped a Kaos pad controller which we could use to effect sounds on my computer. The kaos controller was used to effect pitch and sound modulation. As you can see in the video, these sounds were controlled via hitting the surface or effecting the shape of the yellow pages. :)

Milieu - Airjet Yellow

from: Eufloria (2011) Milieu is Brian Grainger Brian Grainger started making music somewhere after his parents' divorce in 1997. He played multiple instruments in a number of different bands and projects, teaching himself how to play guitar, drums, bass and keyboard without the aid of classical training. In 2001, Brian began dabbling in psychedelic and ambient music, and by 2002 he became interested in writing computer-produced (but still organic) songs. Doing simple recordings with a four-track, guitar, organ and a drum machine, he adopted the Parallax moniker and slowly progressed into a unique and expressive aesthetic for himself. By May of 2004, Brian had completed 6 albums under the Parallax name before retiring it and releasing music as Milieu. Brian currently lives with his wife Sophia and his pets in Columbia, South Carolina. www.blogger.com www.milieu-music.com www.myspace.com Official 2-disc soundtrack for the critically acclaimed independent video game Eufloria, containing all music used in the game, as well as additional tracks exclusive to this soundtrack and bonus hi-res desktop wallpaper images of the game's art. milieu.bandcamp.com

Priestess Lay Down - GH Drums

***PLEASE READ*** This is played using the Drum Machine program. This is not involved with guitar hero or rockband the only reason I involved guitar hero is for the background music idk why but i did. The Drum Machine program is designed for RockBand Drums thats why i have the 2 orange pads off. I have it so that there are 2 drums, you cant have more. My Setup is First Kit: Red: Snare 11 Yellow: hihat 1 Blue:tom 1 Green: tom 2 Kick Pedal: Kick 28 Second Kit: Red : Tom 3 Yellow : Crash 1 Blue : Snare 6 Green: hihat_open 2 Kick Pedal : Kick 27 I Cant Record the play and then upload the sounds alone because when i record (in Drum Machine) The Pads wont play their right notes. Like red would play green greend would play yellow and yellow would play red but blue would play blue. But Any Questions will be answered if i can answer them.

Little Drum Machine - Almost Done

He's mostly complete. Eventually I want to add one more drumstick up front, but for now I'm working on refining his navigation and drumming code. See the rest of my robots at letsmakerobots.com
