Innovative director Spike Jonze collaborates with celebrated author Maurice Sendak to bring one of the most beloved books of all time to the big screen in "Where the Wild Things Are," a classic story about childhood and the places we go to figure out the world we live in. The film tells the story of Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. Max lands on an island where he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions. The Wild Things desperately long for a leader to guide them, just as Max longs for a kingdom to rule. When Max is crowned king, he promises to create a place where everyone will be happy. Where The Wild Things Are - Trailer 2 - Music ONLY
I was so impressed with the trailers prior to watching the film, that after watching it I decided to cut a MUSIC-ONLY version of the second trailer together. Perhaps this is something I will do with other movie trailers in the future. Carefully stitched together using the video and audio from the second trailer, "Wake Up" by The Arcade Fire, and "Igloo" by Karen O and The Kids. This provides many fans of the movie (and the trailer) with a music-only track of the trailer. The acoustic intro to "Wake Up" from the trailer was carefully adjusted to level out the audio where the dialogue takes place. That, and Max's humming at the beginning of the track, are the only elements from the original WTWTA Trailer #2 left in place. I left in Max's humming as I personally consider it a part of the trailer's music. The "Wake Up" section was chopped up a lot for the original trailer, and this video aims to match the cuts, note to note. They connected and cut many parts of "Wake Up" for this trailer and I did my best to match their edit precisely. Enjoy.

Back then Disney owned the film rights to the Where The Wild Things Are books... they didn't use them, though, so they lost them. Guitar legend Steve Vai will release his concert film and live album "Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are" September 29th, 2009 on Favored Nations Records. The show was recorded and filmed at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN before a sold-out audience as part of Vais successful Sound Theories world tour. Vai is widely known for both his unprecedented guitar playing techniques and the unique design of his signature series Ibanez Jem guitar.
