Woody Allen interview 1971 PART 1/4
Woody Allen interview from 1971, just after the worldwide release of 'Bananas'
WoodyAllenJesus
This song was meant to air on the Jonathan Ross Show on 23rd December 2011, but at the last minute ITV cut it! Here's my whiney blog about it (originally published at www.timminchin.com): I really like Jonathan Ross. I think he's a funny, interesting, kind person, and an excellent interviewer. I also really like his wife... But let's not get back into that. Jonathan and his wonderful producer, Suzi, have been incredibly supportive of me and so when they asked me to write a song for their pre-Christmas show, I didn't hesitate. It was the worst possible time to be writing a new song -- I've been overworked and ill, was on tour, and was really feeling the stress. But I wasn't going to say no... it's Jonathan Ross! And my fellow guests were to be Tom Cruise, the divine actors from Downton Abbey, and the ace In-Betweeners boys. So I got to writing. Being Christmas, I thought it would be fun to do a song about Jesus, but being TV, I knew it would have to be gentle. The idea was to compare him to Woody Allen (short, Jewish, philosophical, a bit hesitant), and expand into redefining his other alleged attributes using modern, popular-culture terminology. It's not a particularly original idea, I admit, but it's quite cute. It's certainly not very contentious, but even so, compliance people and producers and lawyers all checked my lyrics long before the cameras rolled. As always with these bespoke writing jobs, I was really stressed for about 3 days, and almost chucked it in the bin ...

Woody Woodpecker - Pantry Panic (1941) Restored
For all you Woody Woodpecker fans out there. A high quality restored copy of his only cartoon in the public domain. The Cartoon was only the third in the long running series and features the earlier more wacky looking Woody. Many people are unaware that the great Mel Blanc (voice of Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig etc,) provided the distinctive laugh and other voice cues including his "guess who?" catchphrase.

Gil is a Californian hack who churns out screenplays but dreams of writing a novel. He and his fiancée Inez have come to Paris to sigh dreamily as they wander its boulevards and the banks of the Seine. The trouble is that Inez's Tea Party-supporting parents are with them. Woody Guthrie: Voice of the Common Man
Written and produced by Melissa Mergner in 2006, when she was a 14-year-old high school student, Woody Guthrie -- Voice of the Common Man is a short documentary about how the folk singer-songwriter overcame personal hardship and tragedy to become a spokesman for those Americans affected by the Great Depression and the dust storms. Although neither a politician nor activist, Guthrie brought attention to the plight of Okies, migrant workers and other disenfranchised people. He gave music a social conscience and influenced several generations of singer-songwriters, including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bragg, Steve Earle, John Mellencamp, Ani DiFranco and Jeff Tweedy. The film uses Guthrie's own voice from Library of Congress recordings, as well as archival footage from the '30s. Soundtrack by Richard Drueding.
Woody Woodpecker Song by Gloria Wood & Kay Kyser's Orchestra on 1948 Columbia 78.
Columbia 78 rpm record #38197. This song is a long time childhood memory song for me. The record was originally owned by my grandparents on my mothers side of family, and they not only enjoyed this 78 rpm record of Woody Woodpecker by Kay Kyser's Orchestra with Gloria Wood on vocals. They also enjoyed watching the Woody Woodpecker cartoons created by Walter Lantz at the movie theater, shown a few minutes before main movie would start. Transferred to digital using stereo gear in background photo on my channel.
Classic Game Room - WOODY WOODPECKER mobile review
Woody Woodpecker review. Classic Game Room reviews WOODY WOODPECKER from Universal and Chillingo for iPad. Woody Woodpecker is a "sliding down the hill to gain speed and jump off the other side" kind of game with gameplay similar to numerous other titles but with a Mario Kart inspired race mechanic that allows players to compete against the iPad or other people online. Woody Woodpecker the video game for mobile devices is very fun and playable by all ages but lacks some originality as game play is nearly identical to other popular titles like Tiny Wings. Choose from Woody Woodpecker, Chilly Willy and more as you skate or slide down hills and charge up your turbo boost to beat your opponents across the finish line. Good, affordable, family friendly fun can be found in this pick up and play videogame for iPad. CGR Woody Woodpecker video review has Woody Woodpecker gameplay in HD from iPad.
Woody's Neighborhood Tour
OMG I look so ugly in this. In my mind's eye, I'm a far more handsome man. LOL Daily Reminder to Vote for WoodysGamertag: youtube.com Update: I noticed that my shaky camerawork didn't catch the envelope actually going into the mailbox's slot. It is actually in there so I can't do a second take. At the start of the video you can see that the check wasn't made out to me, it was made out directly to the charity. Just in case you're new to banking, I couldn't cash it if I wanted to. I had them do that just to make sure that I wouldn't be accused of taking the money.

euronews cinema - Woody goes 'To Rome with Love'
www.euronews.com Having produced several odes to London, a nod to Spain and a full scale love letter to Paris, the next leg of Woody Allen's European tour is Italy where he has filmed his new opus To Rome with Love. The film plays with Italian stereotypes and stars the director, along with Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Ellen Page, Alec Baldwin and Roberto Benigni who won an Oscar for La Vita e Bella. The decor is rich, elegant and snobby, with accents of sunshine, cliche and irony.
