DOWNLOAD WHYTM HERE: www.mediafire.com Here is the intro to a side tournament I ran over the weekend at RIP II (Rumble in the Prairie II) called WinDEU Hates You: The Musical. All of the songs in the tournament involved foreground changes, combined with marathon scripts. It was run similar to Kytsune's sightread tournaments, where everyone who entered but hasn't played the round yet had to leave the room. It was a bit of a rough start, because I forgot to compensate for the 100% BG brightness (which was needed for BG changes to look proper). However, since less than 16 people entered, no one was cut after the first round, so it worked out as a bit of a test run I suppose. Theme done by Kytsune. I'm a huge noob with microphones. WinDEU Hates You: The Movie! Stage 1
So, for those of you who don't know, U of I hosts an In The Groove tournament every semester. Last Spring, WinDEU graced us with his mod reading tournament, WinDEU Hates You: The Musical! Now... this fall... The horror returns. Critics are raving, "EVEN HARDER HITTING AND MORE ACTION PACKED THAN THE FIRST. GUT WRENCHING, TEAR-JERKING. THIS FILM WILL GET YOUR HEART POUNDING!" WINDEU HATES YOU: THE MOVIE! So anyway, the first stage is pretty straightforward as far as mods are concerned (though still a fairly tricky chart by most first stage standards). No crazy FG changes, no LUA BS, just straightforward mods. Storyline: Somewhere in deep space, there exists a treasure known as "The Golden Dedicab", which will allow whoever plays on it to quadstar (perfect score) any song they choose. Before the adventurers head out, though, Eirin prepares a test to ensure they are ready for deep space travel. This is all played on pad by me. I'm a little out of practice (AGAIN, UGH), so my scores aren't exactly up to my usual standards, but they're still pretty good by all means. I've modified the Groove 2.4 theme for Stepmania 3.95 to be as close to the custom theme used at the original tournament. That means removing the song progress bar, the difficulty rating tab, the mod attack list, and the stage number. Unfortunately, it doesn't include the original images, storyline, or the custom results screens that two of the songs had. Everything else is true to the original tournament, though ...

WinDEU Loves You: The Redemption - Original Stage 4
This is what I originally had planned for stage 4. Incidentally it's also an Omnipony song, heh. This is obviously unfinished in quite a few areas, but the main gimmicks are set up. I really wanted to use that target staircase gimmick though, so I gave it a good home in stage 3. While the timing of the notes during the driven drops is cued with some clever usage of Fade In/Fade In Offset, I ultimately felt that it still would have been too much when paired with Alternate, and later Hide Targets. This is a vid that I (Joe) made of WinDEU (Nick) playing Zodiac on hard mode, with over 20 mods on, and getting a quad star. These mods include all of the turn mods, so yes, he was playing with mirror, left, right, random, and blender on. This just proves that he did not memorize the hard chart, which is what a lot of people thought he did. This video was recorded on 8/18/07.

WinDEU Hates You: The Musical! Stages 1-4
DISCLAIMER: If you haven't seen this yet, and you play Stepmania at all with an ITG based theme, I'd recommend pausing this video right now, clicking the download link below, and playing this first. It's a lot more fun when it's a surprise. :3 For those who don't know, last weekend was RIP II, the second installment of Rumble in the Prairie, an In the Groove tournament held at U of I in Champaign-Urbana. Aside from the main event, two side tournaments were held: SRT VI (Sight Reading Tournament) and WHY: The Musical. WinDEU Hates You: The Musical was primarily a mod-reading sightreading tournament. It heavily utilized modifier changes as well as foreground changes to create an entertaining experience, to say the least. There was a small amount of plot to go along with it, but to sum things up: each stage is representative of a different character from Touhou (aside from the extra stage). Stage 1: Cirno Stage 2: Mystia Stage 3: Koishi Stage 4: Reimu Stage 5: Utsuho Stage EX: !? Videos were taken at the tournament, but the camera was considerably less than optimal, so I did a screen capture of the first four songs here to make things a little more clear. I'll probably capture the final stage later, and possibly the bonus stage.
