Amazing video of 747 lifting in place in extreme wind conditions - 1080P HD
This 747 is sitting in a boneyard in Mojave, CA waiting to be dismantled and recycled at the end of its useful life. On May 23rd, 2012 the area experienced extreme winds of 70+ miles per hour and reports of gusts up to 100 near the pass due to a low pressure zone. Without the weight of its engines and with its landing flaps deployed, the slightly tail heavy 747 tries to take to the skies one last time. The next day the plane was found to have also rotated about 45 degrees from its original position. The same wind storm damaged many rooftops, cut power and sent huge clouds of sand and dust billowing into the sky. Mojave will occasionally experience this type of wind storm due to geography. --Mike UPDATE: Well it's gone viral...boy that's a lot of hits. And I am laughing at all the commenters that think this is fake. :) The plane is as of the 29th still sitting nose up.

The scale prototype harnessed strong winds up to 350 feet high to produce over twice the power of traditional wind turbines. The prototype was tested in Limestone Maine by Altaeros Energies, a wind energy company formed out of MIT. The Airborne Wind Turbine uses a helium-filled, inflatable shell to ascend to higher altitudes where winds are more consistent and over five times stronger than those reached by traditional tower-mounted turbines. The automated lifting technology is adapted from aerostats, industrial cousins of passenger blimps that for decades have lifted heavy communications and radar equipment into the air for long periods of time. Altaeros is developing its first product to reduce energy costs by up to 65 percent by displacing expensive fuel used to power diesel generators at remote industrial, military, and village sites. BILBOA, Spain (CNN/ATLAS) - High winds in Bilbao, Spain, made normally routine landings treacherous for airplanes Wednesday. Some airplanes were able to land, making for a bumpy ride for passengers. But at least four other flights had to be diverted from the airport. Several Spanish coastal towns were hit with windy weather, but there was minimal damage.

With Link waking up in his sleepy village on his birthday, we take in the sights and sounds of the island, meeting the people, catching pigs and finding some nice pocket money along the way until he gets to his grandma's house. With his birthday he has came of age, the same age as the hero of legend, children on this day ritually wear a tunic as green as fields in order to impart upon them the courage of the hero, however while wearing the legendary garb events on the island spiral out of control.
