'Golden Voice' homeless man finds job, home after viral video success

Ted Williams, a homeless US man with a deep, refined voice has become an overnight online sensation after being "discovered" by a local reporter on a street corner in Columbus, Ohio. The 53 year-old has now been offered a job by the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers and is being pursued by NFL Films for possible work. Williams said the team had offered him a two-year contract and said they would pay his living expenses. Williams was recently living in a tent and whose past includes a lengthy list of arrests. He has served time in prison for theft and forgery and has been cited with numerous misdemeanours, including drug abuse. "A Tale of Two Missions" -- a film by Juan Williams and Kyle Olson -- tells the story of competing cultures in American education through examples from Chicago. While the fight for school choice rages across the nation, perhaps no better example exists than that of the Windy City. Traditional alliances are breaking down. Both political parties are pushing for education reform and expanded school choice. The status quo is under attack, because most reasonable people understand that thousands of Chicago students are trapped in failing schools. But the education establishment, led by the radical Chicago Teachers Union, is not willing to give an inch to allow better choices for underserved students. And the union still has enough money, influence and legal standing to make reform efforts difficult to implement. The film features the Noble Street College Prep charter school and the amazing results its teachers and leaders are delivering for students and parents of Chicago. Being released during National School Choice Week, the film runs approximately 35 minutes and is geared towards generating discussion about the role of our schools and what obstacles can be overcome when school culture is focused on student success rather than adult demands.

Serena Williams outburst: goes off on umpire at 2011 US Open Finals

Playing a point against Sam Stosur, Serena Williams shouted, "C'MON" when she hit a good ball. She yelled before the ball even landed, though, and the umpire penalized her by giving the point to Stosur. At that point, Serena told the ump, "You have it in for me? I promise you, that's not cool. That's totally not cool. I truly despise you." Winning the next point, she angrily pointed at the umpire with her racket and told her, "I hate you." At the change over, Serena went in on the umpire. "I promise you, if you ever see me walking down the hall, look the other way, 'cause you're out of control. You're out of control. Totally out of control, you're a hater, and you're just unattractive *pats heart* inside. Who would do such a thing? And I never complain. WOW. What a loser. *drinks water* A rules violation because I express who I am? We're in America, last time I checked. *To towel girl* Can I get a water? *Back to umpire* Or am I gonna get violated for a water? Really, don't even look at me. I promise you, don't look at me, because I am not the one. Don't. Look. My. Way." After the match, Serena did not shake hands with the umpire. She did, however, sit with Stosur, and she was gracious to her during the trophy presentation, saying, "It wouldn't have mattered in the end, Sam played really well," and "I guess I need to read the rule books."
