The Whistler "Fatal Error" CBS 5/7/50 Radio Mystery Drama
Whistler Fatal Error "Fatal Error " CBS 5/7/50 "The Whistler" was an American radio program running for a total of 13 years from May 16, 1942 until September 22, 1955. It was one of the most popular mystery drama's of its' time. Signal Oil Company sponsored the program. The marketing catch phrase was: "Let that whistle be your signal for the Signal Oil program, The Whistler." During the first two years of the show J. Donald Wilson was the writer and producer. During 1944 producer and director George Allen took over. Other directors included Sterling Tracy and Sherman Marks with final scripts by Joel Malone and Harold Swanton. 692 total episodes were produced. Over 200 of those episodes can not be found and are no longer in existence. The Whistler always finishes his stories with fatalistic relish, and "the strange ending to tonight's story" is rarely what one expects. In the world of The Whistler, fate has a few speedbumps for the hasty acts of the foolish! Those with a taste for crime and the macabre will enjoy the world of The Whistler.

A Short History of Whistler, Canada
Centuries before the occasional trapper or logger built a cozy cabin in the nineteenth century, the Squamish and Lil'wat First Nations used the secluded Whistler valley for hunting and gathering. It wasn't until 1914 that Alex and Myrtle Philip opened Rainbow Lodge, a fishing and holiday camp. Later that year, the Great Pacific Northwestern railway pushed through the valley en route to Prince George. Located 140 kilometres north of Vancouver, today, some consider Whistler a "global village"; a small mountain community with an international feel. A place where one can hike and ride rugged trails by day and experience fine cuisine and clubs by night. A place where people from all ages and backgrounds - with a common sense of adventure - brush shoulders on the mountain and in the village. With views of Blacktusk from the heart of Whistler Village and the friendly faces on the Village stroll, visitor experiences meet and exceed other recreation destinations. Whether it's the helpful Visitor Hosts or the pristinely kept parks, the small things set the resort apart from other places, the "Whistler Experience". Now, there are nearly 10531 residents in Whistler. On peak holiday weekends, the population can swell to 55000 including visitors. 80cm of snow fell at Whistler Blackcomb in a 48 hour period. This March has officially become the snowiest March on record, with more than 4 metres of snow. The alpine was closed for two days while the 80cm fell. It finally opened yesterday and the conditions were epic. This short clip was filmed with a GoPro on Whistler Mountain.
