The The Impotence of Proofreading, by TAYLOR MALI
Has this ever happened to you? You work very horde on a paper for English clash And then get a very glow raid (like a D or even a D=) and all because you are the word¹s liverwurst spoiler. Proofreading your peppers is a matter of the the utmost impotence. This is a problem that affects manly, manly students. I myself was such a bed spiller once upon a term that my English teacher in my sophomoric year, Mrs. Myth, said I would never get into a good colleague. And that¹s all I wanted, just to get into a good colleague. Not just anal community colleague, because I wouldn¹t be happy at anal community colleague. I needed a place that would offer me intellectual simulation, I really need to be challenged, challenged dentally. I know this makes me sound like a stereo, but I really wanted to go to an ivory legal collegue. So I needed to improvement or gone would be my dream of going to Harvard, Jail, or Prison (in Prison, New Jersey). So I got myself a spell checker and figured I was on Sleazy Street. But there are several missed aches that a spell chukker can¹t can¹t catch catch. For instant, if you accidentally leave a word your spell exchequer won¹t put it in you. And God for billing purposes only you should have serial problems with Tori Spelling your spell Chekhov might replace a word with one you had absolutely no detention of using. Because what do you want it to douch? It only does what you tell it to douche. You¹re the one with your hand on the mouth going clit, clit ...

An Apple a Day is Not Enough - A Poem by Taylor Mali
"An Apple a Day Is Not Enough" is a powerful poem written and performed by Taylor Mali (a well-known spoken word artist and teacher) about the importance of health education. It's done in the style of kinetic typography. We must get the word out about the importance of health education and its ability to get this country's health back on track—but we can't do it alone. Please share this video: Forward it, blog about it, like it on Facebook and send it to your Twitter followers. We'd also love to hear your thoughts on the issue in the comments below.
A Teacher Appreciation Story that Inspires
Sometimes, it takes a life-changing event to spur people to action. Dr. Lee Buono, a neurosurgeon from Medford, Burlington County, was encouraged by one of his patients to thank Albert Siedlecki, the teacher who inspired him to become a neurosurgeon. In the 1980s, Mr. Siedlecki taught Dr. Buono how to dissect a frogs brain. Nearly 20 years later, Dr. Buono is saving lives. Watch their story. May 3-9, 2009 is Teacher Appreciation Week - a great time to celebrate the achievements of New Jerseys teachers. This week and every week NJEA is working to highlight the stories of teachers and educational support professionals who are making a difference in the lives of students. Learning English - Lesson One (Introduction)
Hi everybody this is Misterduncan in England. How are you today? Are you ok?...I hope so. Are you happy?...I hope so. Welcome to the very first episode of my series of English teaching videos Before I begin we will take alook at some of the common questions that often arise when talking about learning the English language. and more importantly, learning it as a second language. So, the first question must be... "Why do we need to learn English?" Of course one of the reasons why we need to be able to speak English nowadays is because the world is becoming smaller. Thanks to the internet and our developing global economy, more and more people are using English as a common way to communicate with each other. So now it has become unavoidable that companies and large businesses will need to employ people.who can speak more than their own native language, that is where English comes in. It is now officially considered as an international language. Of course learning anything is difficult and English is no exception. However, there are ways to make the situation easier. I have come up with my own list of general rules for learning English Do you want to hear them? Do you want to know what they are? Ok...let's go! Learning English takes time and patience. It cannot be rushed Try to relax and take it easy The most important thing you need at to beginning is a good vocabulary Without words, you have nothing to work with You must start with a strong foundation or base. and slowly ...
All I Do Is Solve (WSHS Math Rap Song)
Westerville South High School, Westerville, Ohio (Parody of All I Do Is Win by DJ Khaled) (Chorus) All I do is solve solve solve no matter what Got systems on my mind, I can never get enough And every time I step up in the classroom All my students' hands go up! And they stay there And they say yeah And they stay there Up down, up down, up down Cause all I do is solve solve solve And if you solving it put your hands in the air make em stay there! (Mr. Schultz - GRAPHING) It's Schultz going in on the verse Cause I'm solving this system and I won't stop now Get your heads up, eyes on the screen cause I got three ways to get the problem locked down It never went no where But they saying math is back Sometimes equations are easy That's when I like to graph And I'm on this systems track, so I spit my graphing flow The lines slant up or down, like lines with slope should go So graph your first line, now graph the other one too The intersection is your answer, that's all you've got to do Sometimes lines are the same That's infinite solutions Sometimes they never touch, no common points producing Been solving all the time, at South we represent Cause all I do, all I, all I, all I do is... (Chorus) (Mr. Murphy - ELIMINATION) It's time for me to roll roll elimination's here sometimes graphing is a no no when the lines don't cross real clear, so I put down my graph paper my students wanna eliminate, they see it, they say oh boy! Tell Murphy line it up, On the top and bottom row ...

Chinese govt advise gold buying - why? What is their plan?
www.businessinsider.com Let's face it, why else would a govt want its people to save in gold? The Chinese govt have been advising the people of China to buy gold, even going so far as to produce television programmes explaining the benefits and logistics of doing so. As we know from experience, the ability to print paper, and credit, money by fiat is a privilege held dear by governments - not something they wish, or can generally afford, to let go of. The Chinese govt are not, generally, renowned for kindness to their population so there MUST be a payoff perceived by China for the future. I wonder if the Chinese govt are going to, at some point, allow minting of gold into high-value coins denominated in their currency. There is a precedent in coins sasuch as the Panda Gold Coin. This one, from 1982 I think, has a face value of 500 yuan, which is around $73. A person who bought it at face value, when 1 oz of gold was only around 500 yuan, still has the nominal 500 yuan secured in the coin's legal tender... but the 1 oz of gold is now worth close to 8000 yuan! Heads you hold your nominal value... tails you make a packet if gold goes up. Anyway, a massive conversion of citizen's gold to legal tender would create a solid pm-backing for their currency financed by the savings of the population. It might also give them a real shot at taking the prize of reserve currency status from the dollar as it would increase the money supply - the liquidity available to handle demand for ...
Quadratic Formula Song to Adele's "Rolling In The Deep"
Teachers Emily Helf and Carey Blalock of Sequoyah High School near Canton, GA, performing Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" with modified lyrics dealing with the quadratic formula. LYRICS Here I come walkin', struttin down the hall Don't even think that you're gonna make me fall I'm on my way to take my math test Studied my butt off and I'm gonna do my best I see a quadratic that I must solve First let me tell you what it's gonna involve AX squared plus B x plus C Make sure it's set equal to zero, then it's easy I freeze right up, don't know what to do I just had it here now - I don't have a clue I start to panic - but then I see, - to solve for x It's negative B (quadratic formula, gonna solve for x) Plus or minus square root (quadratic formula, gonna solve for x) B squared minus 4 AC (quadratic formula, gonna solve for x) All over, 2 A Quadratic formula is gonna help me out And the discriminant tells me what it's all about B squared minus 4 AC Tells me the answer is real or imaginary Standard form, that's what it must be Gotta get my numbers - from AB and C Now plug it in to the formula - I can't stop singin' It's negative B (quadratic formula, gonna solve for x) Plus or minus square root (quadratic formula, gonna solve for x) B squared minus 4 AC (quadratic formula, gonna solve for x) All over, 2 A It's negative B (I've got it going on. I know my formula) Plus or minus square root (Plug in the numbers - 4ac) B squared minus 4 AC (Gonna solve for x. Using the forumula.) All ...

Making a Simple Animal out of Clay
This is how I teach my grade one to grade seven students to make animals out of clay, starting out with the most basic shapes and then moving up to more complex ones. Process: 1. have a good photo/picture of the animal in side view handy 2. look for the most basic shapes in the animal 3. keeping proportions in mind, recreate those simple shapes in clay, eg oval for body, columns for legs etc. Note: for long legged animals will need to make legs much thicker than in nature so they can support the body, cannot put supporting armature in pottery clay as clay shrinks as it dries and armatures cannot be fired 4. make sure all attachments are smooth and seamless like in nature 5. look for more complex shapes in animal, the more shapes you see and the more shapes you make, the more real your animal will be 6. make a thick clay base and attach animal, put clay base on a cardboard or plastic base so easier to carry and move, add accessories to base to make sculpture more interesting, can add another animal and make something happening, use imagination 7. hollow animal out, needed to allow clay to dry properly, otherwise it may explode in kiln, can close large hole made by hollowing and then make smaller holes to allow air circulation to outside 8. allow to dry for one to two weeks, do not touch during this time, do not want it to break accidentally 9. fire in kiln, local community pottery studio will do this for you for a small fee, can also buy clay and tools from them 10. glue ...

How Thunderf00t can make his channel profitable
View all of my responses to Thunderf00t here www.youtube.com This is a video response to Thunderf00t Time to Quit?www.youtube.com Thunderf00t also just today released a new video on this subject Thunderf00t 2012 www.youtube.com Thunderf00t's video to HowTheWorldWorks appears to have been flagged down. Here is a copy www.youtube.com Thunderf00t's video from 2009 about becoming a partner www.youtube.com My video response to him about the benefits of the Partner Program www.youtube.com To quote from Thunderf00t's video description "Gotta be honest I do kinda enjoy making youtube videos.... and evidently people like watching them. Only problem is though it takes up a lot of time. Most of the videos I put out have far more thought, planning and production in them than the 'entertainingly angry man rants at camera about opinions' type thing. Initially all I wanted to do was put out some reasonably well thought out media on the basis that eventually people would find it and put it to good use. The channel on average now pulls in some 12 mn hits per year. I figure its worth keeping up.... For the time that's put into it... I reckon it does a lot of good. But increasingly it feels like an unappreciated venture getting swamped in a sea of media... and the only way to avoid sinking is to create more and better material (a treadmill just to keep the head above water). For me this has been heading to a crunch for some time now, probably about a year. Even as it stands this channel ...
Justice: What's The Right Thing To Do? Episode 02: "PUTTING A PRICE TAG ON LIFE"
PART ONE: PUTTING A PRICE TAG ON LIFE Today, companies and governments often use Jeremy Benthams utilitarian logic under the name of cost-benefit analysis. Sandel presents some contemporary cases in which cost-benefit analysis was used to put a dollar value on human life. The cases give rise to several objections to the utilitarian logic of seeking the greatest good for the greatest number. Should we always give more weight to the happiness of a majority, even if the majority is cruel or ignoble? Is it possible to sum up and compare all values using a common measure like money? PART TWO: HOW TO MEASURE PLEASURE Sandel introduces JS Mill, a utilitarian philosopher who attempts to defend utilitarianism against the objections raised by critics of the doctrine. Mill argues that seeking the greatest good for the greatest number is compatible with protecting individual rights, and that utilitarianism can make room for a distinction between higher and lower pleasures. Mills idea is that the higher pleasure is always the pleasure preferred by a well-informed majority. Sandel tests this theory by playing video clips from three very different forms of entertainment: Shakespeares Hamlet, the reality show Fear Factor, and The Simpsons. Students debate which experience provides the higher pleasure, and whether Mills defense of utilitarianism is successful.

Homemade Fake Blood - Halloween Sick Science! #008

Korean Stereotypes
Click here for more ::: I asked a group of nine students what they want to say to the rest of the world about South Korea, or more generally, about Asia. They address a variety of topics, such as being good at math, being asked if they are Japanese or Chinese, and also cosmetic surgery. I've been helping these students prepare for their journey abroad to the USA this winter, and we thought making a video would be a great way to make a memory of the time that we've spent together comparing cultures, thoughts, and opinions. I'm really proud of what these students have achieved already, and I know they will all be wonderful broad-minded teachers in the future. I was inspired to make this film after watching Lena Khan's video "A Land Called Paradise". Please feel free to comment, ask questions, and leave your opinions. The song is "Traveler" by Korean indie musician Soul Park. Here is Soul Park's English website where you can download this song and the whole album: www.cdbaby.com (1 song : $0.99, whole album : $7.77)
