Zoe Smith - Britain's Olympic Weightlifting hopeful
www.winkball.com British Weightlifter, Zoe Smith, is looking forward to London 2012 more than most, as she is one of the Team GB members competing in their hometown. We may not have had her competing in weightlifting, were it not for a chance call-up. Aged 12, Smith was originally a gymnast -- at the Europa gym in Erith, Kent -- but she was asked to make up the numbers in a weightlifting competition by coach, Andrew Callard, who trained the lifters at the same venue where she practiced gymnastics. Smith took to it pretty naturally and was a more promising lifter than gymnast, so set her athletic journey on that path. Only four years later, Smith was a bronze medalist in the 58kg division at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Not only was this her first senior international competition but it also made her the first Englishwoman to win a Commonwealth medal for weightlifting. Having spent just over a year competing in the women's 63kg weight category -- the next category up -- she is now, in February 2012, looking to slim back down to compete in the 58kg weight category again, where she was so successful a couple of years ago. Despite setting personal bests and breaking British records at the 63kg weight, it makes more sense for Smith to compete in 2012 at 58kg as the A standard is easier to achieve. My weight lifting progress in 2 months: 17 pound gain: Tribulus & DHEA (testosterone booster)
www.exforexbroker.com I started lifting about 7 months ago. When I started lifting I was about 160lbs at 6'2 (skinny as hell with a little beer gut even though I really don't drink). After 5 month of lifting with no supplements I gained no more than 2-4 pounds and really did not see results good enough to keep going as I was putting in all this hard work only to feel discouraged. So you figure I was at about 162-164lbs from 160lbs after 5 months of lifting. In the last 2 months taking Tribulus, DHEA, and protein powder I have gained approximately 17 pound (solid 180lbs now). I first started taking Tribulus after hearing some guys in the gym talking about it. I looked it up when I got home, and after reading the reviews on varies sites which was mixed I went on to order it. I noticed strength and much better pumps in the first few days of taking it (along with some zits). I then proceeded to take protein shakes with another supplement called DHEA. The reason I gave DHEA a try was because some of the Tribulus reviews indicated taking DHEA with the Tribulus for max effect, plus it was cheap as hell. In any event, not sure if it's some kind of placebo effect (don't underestimate the power of the placebo effect) but I am happy with the results thus far and people at the gym have noticed the results from these past two months. If any of those three statements relate to you, this video is for you. First, you must face reality. Your goal will take longer than you think. You can't do endless bicep curls and expect to get great results. Training splits where you do biceps on one day, back on another, won't work for you. As Dave Tate said, if you can't flex a muscle and feel it, don't isolate it. You can't flex bone. Your key to building a decent body is to have starting strength, once you are strong enough to lift weights, your body will start to look awesome. Don't believe four minute ab bullshit infomercials. The strength will give you a harder, firmer look. You can graduate from the big basics when you can bench press over 200 pounds, squat 275 pounds, deadlift 315 pounds and perform 15 perfect chin ups. Luckily for you I designed a ridiculously SIMPLE training program for any beginner that they can use to rapidly build size and strength. As you will see, its based off of 3 FULL body work outs. Preparation for the 2012 European Senior Weightlifting Championships
I began my specific preparation for the 2012 European Senior Weightlifting Championships 16 weeks ago. In January 2012 I decided to move from the 77kg weight category to the 85kg weight category. The 16-week training programme was very varied, using a lot of sub-maximal high volume training approaches in exercises such as the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, Power Snatch, Power Clean, Hang Variations, Block Variations, Muscle Snatch, Pulls, Deadlifts, Back Squat, Front Squat & lots of 'Core' & 'Bodybuilding' exercises. Of course a high-intensity training approach was used when appropriate. The top lifts in this video are 125kg Snatch, 150kg Clean & Jerk, 152.5kg Clean+Front Squat+Jerk, 157.5kg Clean attempt, 105kg Power Snatch, 135kg Power Clean, 235kg Back Squat & 240kg attempt, 205kg Front Squat & 210kg attempts, 175kg Jerk from behind the neck & 180kg attempt. 85kg BW. I will be representing Ireland at the 2012 European Senior Weightlifting Championships in Antalya, Turkey on 13/04/12.
