Mozart Requiem Mass in D Minor VIII - Hostias
John Eliot Gardiner conducts the English Baroque Soloists and the Monteverdi Choir. This performance was filmed at the Palau de la Musica Catalana, Barcelona in Dec. 1991. A Requiem Mass in the Roman Catholic tradition is a service designed to pray for the souls of the departed. The parts of the liturgy that are meant to be sung are what constitute all Requiem Mass compositions, including Mozart's. The structure is as follows: 1. Introit 2. Kyrie 3. Sequence: a. Dies irae b. Tuba mirum c. Rex tremendae d. Recordare e. Confutatis f. Lacrimosa 4. Offertory: a. Domine Jesu Christe b. Hostias 5. Sanctus 6. Benedictus 7. Agnus Dei 8. Lux Aeterna Mozart died before finishing the Requiem Mass, and his wife Constanze gave the task of finishing the work to a pupil of Mozart's named Süssmayr. From the Sanctus onward, the Requiem is the creation of Süssmayr, though he did use portions of the Introit and Kyrie for the Lux Aeterna, as requested by Mozart and as per tradition. Despite, or maybe partially because of, the controversy surrounding this Requiem Mass, it is widely regarded as Mozart's greatest masterpiece. Latin Lyrics and English translation follow:

Prince - (1485-1509) - David Starkey follows the dramatic events of Henry's childhood, events that shaped his personality and his attitude to kingship. In 1485, on the field at Bosworth, Henry's father, Henry Tudor, seized the crown from the defeated Yorkist king Richard III. To us, this event marks the end of the Wars of the Roses but to contemporaries it was not clear that this bitter dynastic struggle was truly over. Henry, Tudor's second son, was created Duke of York to link the royal house to the defeated faction. But Henry had a rival in the shape of Perkin Warbeck, who claimed to be the real Duke of York and rightful king. Henry Tudor would have to defend his throne twice in battle, and his son's life depended on the outcome. The death of his brother Arthur made Henry Prince of Wales, and his father's heir and rival.

Today I start a game I've wanted to Let's Play since I created my YouTube account, Final Fantasy 8. This to me sums up my early RPG days and although the beginning is slow and seems like a bit of a grind (optional, you can just push through) I'm completely biased towards this game and think it's awesome. Final Fantasy VIII - Guardian Force Summons
Here's a little demonstration video. This video displays all the Summons in Final Fantasy VIII, which are called Guardian Forces (GFs). The only one I didn't include was Gilgamesh, only because he's completely random and has 4 attacks total. It would have taken me hours and hours to get them to show up. Odin managed to show up though, by luck. If you want to comment on which you like the best, feel free to. Here is a list of the GFs names in the order they are shown: Quetzacoatl - Thunder Storm Shiva - Diamond Dust Ifrit - Hell Fire Siren - Silent Voice Brothers - Brotherly Love Diablos - Dark Messenger Carbuncle - Ruby Light Leviathan - Tsunami Pandemonia - Tornado Zone Cerberus - Counter Rockets Alexander - Holy Judgement Doomtrain - Runaway Train Bahamut - Mega Flare Cactuar - 1000 Needles Tonberry - Chef's Knife Eden - Eternal Breath Odin - Zantesuken I went in order of how they are listed in the game. Odin is the exception, as he's not a useable GF, he randomly shows up at the start of random battles and OHKOs them. Eden is the most powerful GF of them all, as its attack power can exceed the 9999 cap. Only a few other moves in the game can do that (Shockwave Pulser, Kamikaze). But Eden's animation is so long that you'll probably not want to use that as a way of doing damage. I feel bad for the people who spend the entire game spamming GFs to win fights because they don't understand the junction system. It must be god aweful boring to sit there and wait through these ...

Enjoy my compilation of all cutscenes from Final Fantasy VIII. All musictracks are from the original Final Fantasy VIII soundtrack: (Intro: fix music = "Liberi Fatali") overture starting up waltz for the moon dead end blue sky fithos lusec wecos winosec the extreme the stage is set premonition never look back find your way / Memoria retaliation compression of the time the loser the castle (Outro: fix music = "ending theme") -in this order- Many of you asked in your comments why I put music over the video clips and why I used music different from the original world music you heard when playing through the game. Here are the reasons: 1) Most video clips had no audio at all and after a few minutes the whole video felt boring without melodies. 2) The whole video felt uncomfortable and disturbing when I put world music over it and changed the music track with every clip. 3) Putting long music tracks over "many" video clips resulted in a positive feeling that different clips belong together. The effect was that connected video clips suddenly created a "golden thread" and a storyline. 4) Achieving this goal forced me to use different songs than in the original game from time to time. Believe me: I tried to use the original songs whenever I could but sometimes it just didn't fit with the following scenes and keeping them would have resulted in keeping uncomfortable crossovers during the whole video.
