The speech was to signify that war is never in the genuine interest of the population, but rather the interests of those who benefit.Besides, what you are arguing could still simply be attributed to the despair living conditions of war.

It should be taught in school right next to the lie that is taught now in history classes as to the reason we fight all our wars. I remember growing up and being told about communist propaganda,well propaganda is alive and doing just fine in our own country under the disguise of Patriotism.
