Description:
"Epitaph" (Fripp, McDonald, Lake, Giles, Sinfield). From their debut studio album "In the Court of the Crimson King", 10/October/1969.* Robert Fripp -- Guitar* Ian McDonald -- flute, clarinet, saxophone, vibes, keyboards, mellotron, vocals* Greg Lake -- bass guitar, lead vocals* Michael Giles -- drums, percussion, vocals* Peter Sinfield -- lyrics, illumination* Barry Godber -- cover illustrations.Lyrics:The wall on which the prophets wroteIs cracking at the seams.Upon the instruments of deathThe sunlight brightly gleams. When every man is torn apartWith nightmares and with dreams,Will no one lay the laurel wreathWhen silence drowns the screams.Confusion will be my epitaph. As I crawl a cracked and broken pathIf we make it we can all sit backand laugh. But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying,Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying.Between the iron gates of fate,The seeds of time were sown,And watered by the deeds of thoseWho know and who are known;Knowledge is a deadly friendIf no one sets the rules. The fate of all mankind I seeIs in the hands of fools.Confusion will be my epitaph. As I crawl a cracked and broken pathIf we make it we can all sit backand laugh. But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying,Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying.(including "March for No Reason" and "Tomorrow and Tomorrow").=============================================I do not own King Crimson."In the Court of the Crimson King" belongs to King Crimson and EG Records Ltd.

May 13, 2012 - I favor listening to 'I talk to the Wind' and 'Epitaph' back-to-back. To me, they blend for a good trip. However, whenever I am sadly confused, I think of 'Epitaph's chorus, and it always makes the situation even depressing

May 21, 2012 - Since its magnitude of awesomeness is immense, and the majority of people I mention it to dont even know who the band is, nevermind the album. These songs should be a regular spin on the regular radio stations, you shouldnt have to put in the CD or go youtube them to listen to them, They should be as common as hearing some crappy 90s band on the radio.
