Apr 20, 2012 - I was going to take a medical billing course, it cost $22k 3 times what it costs at the Community college! And they would only give me financial assistance for $9k, and I had to start making payments of $149 a month after I started. The rest of the $13k I would have had to get on my own. The courses are ridiculously expensive. I can only imagine you can get assistance if you are at the poverty level, and if you have a full time job, the schedule is nearly impossible.

May 19, 2012 - I first did Billing and Coding. Looked for a job for about 6 months. NOTHING and the college really didnt help much either. So I said maybe if I did a different trade. So I did Dental Assistant thing and COULD NOT FIND A JOB NONE WHAT SO EVER! Ugh! I just did not understand. I did the classes and was the top of my class, but CAN NOT FIND A JOB! So NOW I am at the city college and getting a degree instead of a certificate. If Im gonna do it, I should GO ALL IN! And I will get paid more too. :-)

May 19, 2012 - i hope it works out for you!!!! you seem very smart =) billing and codin / medical assiatant is dead end careers . noone hiring if they do it wont be long term. nursing is a stable career. next time do your research on your career choice and stay away from these types of schools. but at least you have more than onething under your belt so dont feel like you wasted your time. good luck to you ! =)
