Jan 28, 2012 - I was shocked by this movie, because in fact it really has very little to do with wrestling when all is said and done. It runs far deeper than that.

Feb 4, 2012 - i do agree that ultimately it has very little to do with the technical aspect of wrestling, as an avid fan of wrestling, if you look into it, this move has everything to do with wrestling. The guys that commit their lives to the business are exactly like mickey rourke's character. In reality the wrestling business can be very cruel, very hard, and very isolating and a lot of former wrestlers are left in shambles like this.

Mar 10, 2012 - She only would have pretended to care about him to stop him anyways. He could have gave it a chance but he already knew she was never that into him. I feel the same exact way with girls lol They only pretend to like me because I'm depressed. Pro Wrestling is the only thing that always keeps me happy and I can't get hurt because no one lies to me or gives me False Hope :P

Mar 13, 2012 - @nuovosalarioMarisa left because she could not watch The Ram kills himself, just as any other human being could not watch his loved one get hurt. So, one might ask why The Ram had to lose everything he loves, and everything that loves him?Well, he had to because otherwise he would lose himself. He is The Ram. And just as he is The Ram, everyone of us is someone else, and the moment we compromise and stop being ourselves we are of no worth in life or death. What we have been stays forever.

Apr 28, 2012 - This movie reminds me of Death of a Salesman in a way.
TheNewEmphinix Says:
May 1, 2012 - Mickey Rourke had an amazing and incredible performance. I remember my friend saying that after the screening of this movie, Roddy Piper was so emotional that he broke down in Mickey's arms because it hit so close to home.
LordMalice6d9 Says:
May 1, 2012 - "I never understood, if he had a chance of having someone to care for him and love him like marisa tomei, why didn't he give it a chance instead of commiting suicide?"Because that would be a typical hollywood ending.
scuttlearmy Says:
May 2, 2012 - Would an example of him "compromising" be giving up wrestling to save his heart? Also, when we stop being ourselves, the "no worth in life and death" is a little selfish, yes? Selfish might be a harsh word. I am trying to further understand your point, I find it intriguing.
OfficialSinycalBand Says:
May 3, 2012 - one of the coolest, yet emotional deaths in a movie when he leaped off the top rope and the credits start rolling.
100cincinnati Says:

ytmakan Says:
May 17, 2012 - I gave it a few weeks of thought, and came to a conclusion that we are both right. Life requires balance between strengthening our core identity, and building relationships which complement us emotionally and intellectually. It is of utmost importance to make sure that one does not cancel out the other. Strong individuals need the sensitive ones to make them emotionally complete, while the sensitive ones need the strong ones to empower them. That is why relationships are important.

Jan 11, 2012 - Well I don't disagree completely with their decision... Penn did a fantastic job, as he usually does in just about every role he's put in... I just thought Mickey Rourke's resurgence in this role made his performance all the more believable and, in the end, probably more memorable. I do think the Oscars are still important though being as how they're probably the most prestigious American film awards. I'm with you though, I would've given the award to Rourke.
