Jun 25, 2010 - pretend the engine was powered by blowing instead of sucking to help me understand this. the intake valve is open, the exhaust is closed, air gets sucked out of the cylinder pulling the piston up, the intake valve closes and the exhaust is opened so that air can get in during the down stroke correct?
