The drama at ABC isn't taken place on screen but rather behind the scenes.I'm Sal LoPizzo and this is an ABC Drama Watch edition of REEL TV NEWS.The women of Wisteria Lane have survived murderers, natural disasters, plane crashes, blackmail, and botox but they couldn't survive low ratings. Yes, it is official. Next season will be the ladies' last. With ratings on the decline and the departure of the show's creator and executive producer, Mark Cherry, it was inevitable that ABC would cancel the once top rated show. But don't be too upset because producers promise the most over the top season yet and for this show that's saying something.We reported last week that GREY'S ANATOMY'S creator and executive producer and head writer Shonda Rhimes is adamant that next season would not be the shows last. But with original cast members contracts ending and many of them speaking out about leaving the rumors are out of control. It seems like the only original cast member keeping quiet is Sandra Oh aka Christina Yang. McDreamy himself Patrick Dempsey said that he would be leaving and Ellen Pompeo, who plays title character Meridith Grey is also unclear about returning after next season. So, how could GREYS ANATOMY go on without Grey? Maybe they can rename the show Yang's Anantomy. I love Sandra Oh but it just doesn't have the same ring.So with Desperate Housewives getting the axe and Grey's possibly saying good-bye to its main characters what should ABC do? Aug 10, 2011 - Lexi Grey is still gonna be there... anyways if they take Derek and Meredeth out it'll be similar to the Office this season or One Tree Hill (Lucas and Peyton).. It will continue for a brief time, drop ratings, and eventually cancel... :(
