He did care about his soldiers to a certain extent, yet like any other officer, he would want to impress his superiors eg. taking the airfield.Patterson was a great company commander unlike Encino Man. That guy couldn't win any argument with Lt. Fick without making himself look like an idiot.

Sep 10, 2011 - i found this series to be very poorly made but the one thing i came away with was that nate is a hero to me. he's an old fahsioned kind of marine leader. clear headed, compassionate but commanding respect....he makes me proud.
