Nov 14, 2010 - More and more people are now touring on sports bikes. I tour on a ZX9R and as long as the rider is okay with using soft luggage and the hassle of loading and unloading it then there is no reason why you cannot tour (thousands of miles each trip) on a sports bike.CheersCarl

Dec 3, 2010 - You have some great videos and great tips, but what upset me is that you said the honda cbr is pretty much not suitable (in my words) for a long trip. The cbr is my favorite bike and i would like to go on a trip to canada (1600) miles, but now im doubting the cbr can take that.

Jan 13, 2011 - Hello. I haven't bought a bike yet but I have a question regarding traveling. Is it safe having a gps device attached somewhere on your instrument gauge? I listen to my iPod quite al lot and I even have earphones plugged while driving. Is it safe to listen to music while riding a motorcycle? Sorry for my noob questions but I would like to know what your thoughts are.

Aug 6, 2011 - why would u need a bike lock if your bike locks with the key?

moorebiker13 Says:

Aug 6, 2011 - why would you need a bicycle lock if your streetbike will lock by the ignitation?

opmike343 Says:

Oct 4, 2011 - If someone wants your bike badly enough, they are going to take it. The idea is to make your bike as less appealing as possibly. This includes, but is not limited to, redundant locking mechanisms.

Mar 29, 2012 - Hey, you should carry a backpack over your shoulder and keep your school clothes in them and the riding gear on. Once you get to your school just hit the disabled toilets or any of em and get changed and stuff your gear in there, should help ;)

billmaa Says:

Apr 18, 2012 - It would be a lil tough to do it in a day...it can be done, it'll just wear you out a bit...two days it would be super easy...650R is a great bike for it tho..

May 11, 2012 - I have a question about moving, I am in my 20's and I am moving from California to either Washington or another state, and I want to travel light, but I want to have everything I need to finish moving, I am taking very little stuff, I am leaving all my other possessions behind and or selling them, and I was wondering if doing this on a motorcycle is a good Idea, I know better gas mileage and so on, but everyone says I should take a car... but I am leaving most of my stuff. Thoughts?

yugmi Says:

May 11, 2012 - Take a plane

OneADayFoody Says:

May 11, 2012 - why would I do that? Then I would have no transportation at all. I will be taking very little stuff with me, such as just a laptop, a few pairs of clothes and thats it already have a job lined up so I dont need to worry about taking anything special with me to help get settled in.

billmaa Says:

May 12, 2012 - That's a tough call my friend, without knowing what bike you are planning on picking up...how much stuff you taking, storage on the bike...if where you are going allows for all year riding...it's hard to say..

OneADayFoody Says:

May 12, 2012 - Well I am only taking my work uniform, a couple changes of clothes for atleast the 1st week then I will get stuff later. A laptop and thats about it. I am selling everything else I own. So a small pack for clothes and a backpack sized pack for my laptop & stuff. I will be going to Tacoma Washington since they offered me a position there that pays $7/hour more. Its a 19 hour ride straight so atleast 2-3 day trip by myself. This wont be until next year so I will have plenty of practice on a bike.

billmaa Says:

May 12, 2012 - I've been to Tacoma a few times...They get a bit of snow up there...I'm not sure going bike only is your best choice....but depending on the time of year, you might be able to pull it off before the season ends...and then you can pick up a cheap car for the winter run.

OneADayFoody Says:

May 12, 2012 - I plan on picking up either a scooter or a small car once I get up there, but I want to "Experience" the trip, if you know what I mean, and you cant do that behind glass and steel. I am still young and want to experience everything I can before I get too caught up in things. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton, and have nothing but the rest of my life in front of me, so I want to travel, and I was thinking of picking up a Hyosung GT250R or something along that line.

billmaa Says:

May 13, 2012 - with that said, just go for it...you won't regret it
