May 20, 2012 - I don't think Bonzo was putting down the Beatles in that interview he just said that why he went to see the Beatles "was to look at them" and that things had changed. The Beatles really couldn't control how they were presented by the media. Page was very complimentary of the Beatles in a 1970 interview.

May 26, 2012 - Zeppelin did not end the Beatles era... Paul quitting the band ended the Beatles era. At the time the Beatles ended they most definitely were still the largest drawing band in the world. If you look at the Billboard charts and concert attendance numbers of the time you could see that for yourself. Both bands made amazing albums that changed the face of music forever and were indeed admirers of each other's work. Stop comparing and just enjoy it all.

May 26, 2012 - break up happened in 1970. led zepp displaced them in 1968, in fact there is a television interview on youtube as well about it. also led zeppelin had much higher concert attendance numbers. led zeppelin are regarded by most as the greatest band in the world and even if i stop comparing, it still means beatles are #2

May 26, 2012 - Okay, a few things - 1) Zeppelin didn't displace anybody in 68. They didn't have enough exposure to do so until they released their first album in Jan of 69 (March in the UK). All they did in 68 was play some shows in the UK and also some shows on a small American tour. They, at that time, were not the giant they would become within the next 1-2 years. Whatever you heard someone say in that interview is an opinion. I should know - I was a tour promoter in NYC in 1969. Were you even born yet?

If you really need to make the comparison, base it on numbers. Dig out the concert attendance records for both bands between 68-70 and see them for yourself. Zeppelin's attendance after 1970 can't really be taken into account. We're comparing them during the era when they were both active.

The Beatles routinely have 10-11 albums on the list, with at least 4-5 in the top 10 and they always take the #1 spot. Led Zeppelin doesn't compare on these lists. So how you can think the masses regard them as #1 over the Beatles, I have no clue. and 4) Once again, I lived through this era. I remember it well and I can assure you that the Beatles were bigger until they were done.
