Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2011/01/18/Dr_Jean-Jacques_Hublin_Neanderthals_DecipheredDr. Jean-Jacques Hublin of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology details a recent and curious discovery of a possible genetic integration between Neanderthals and modern humans around 60,000 years ago.-----Neandertals were the first fossil hominins discovered and, since then, have been the most studied. However, it is only in the last two decades that entirely new techniques have made new and fascinating insights into their biology and behavior possible.Beyond their odd anatomy, we are now able to explore the mechanisms of their birth and growth, the way their brains developed, and the chemical signals left in their bones from their diet. The decoding of their genome has opened a new era in paleoanthropology.Ultimately, understanding the rise and the fall of the Neandertals will help us to elucidate the unrivaled evolutionary success of our own species. - California Academy of SciencesJean-Jacques Hublin, Ph.D., is currently a Professor at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig (Germany), where he serves as the Director of the Department of Human Evolution. He has also been an honorary Professor at the University of Leipzig since 2004. Initially his research focused on the origin and evolution of Neanderthals and he has proposed an accretion model for the emergence of the Neandertal lineage that roots it in time in the middle of the middle Pleistocene. He also worked on the processes associated with the emergence of Homo sapiens and on the interactions between Neanderthals and anatomically modern humans in Europe. He developed the use of medical and virtual imaging in the reconstruction and study of fossil hominids and paid attention to growth and development issues. He has led field operations in North Africa, Spain and France. In addition to his scientific papers, he has regularly published popular books (with translations in English, Italian, Spanish, and Chinese) and articles on the subjects of Neanderthal and early modern human evolution.

Feb 23, 2012 - Neanderthal burried their Dead !! Early Humans at the Time , Did not burry the Dead ?!! So does that mean Neanderthal was Smarter or more emotional ?

Feb 26, 2012 - Your "evidence" comes from your delusions. You are neither well-travelled nor keen on genetic anthropology, genetic archeology, genetic genealogy, you buffoon!

Feb 26, 2012 - Ever heard of heterzygous advantage? How about the phylogenetic tree?Heterozygosity index?Probabably not!But you can draw a swastika really well, can't you?

Mar 4, 2012 - There Are Homo erectus Genes In Africans.

Mar 10, 2012 - Europes first people were never niggers they were white and im black bitch

Mar 19, 2012 - @bomedley7: That's nice. Where's your evidence?
WalleyMD Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - Caucasians did NOT evolve from Cro-Magnons in Europe. It is a common misconception that Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon were the forerunners of Modern Man. Actually Modern Man is much older than both of them.date for the origin of M173 is around 30,000 years ago
WalleyMD Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - This date means that the man who gave rise to the vast majority of western Europeans lived around 30,000 years ago - consistent with a recent African diaspora, and again showing that Neanderthals could not have been direct ancestors of modern Europeans
WalleyMD Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - Of the thousands of human mitochondrial sequences have been obtained from people all over the world, not one is anywhere near as divergent as Krings' Neanderthal sequence. Neanderthals fall well outside the range of genetic variation found in the human species - and therefore they represent a separate species
WalleyMD Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - This early result has been confirmed by two additional genetic studies of Neanderthal remains from different parts of Europe, showing that the Neanderthals were closely related to each other, but very distantly related to us. The genetic data is incontrovertible - modern Europeans trace their recent ancestry to Africa, in common with everyone else in the world
WalleyMD Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - Neanderthal bones are extensively contaminated with modern human DNA

Apr 4, 2012 - Desinovan Hominin = related to todays Aborigines and Melanesians"A analysis indicated mod. humans ("H sapiens"), Neanderthals, and the Denisova hominin last shared a common ancestor around 1 million years ago.The DNA analysis further indicated that this new hominin species was the result of an early migration out of Africa, distinct from the later out-of-Africa migrations associated with Neanderthals and modern humans, but also distinct from the earlier African exodus of Homo erectus."

Apr 21, 2012 - one of the highest prevalences of Neanderthal Dna in homo-sapiens was in SOUTHERN FRANCE!Do your research!

May 1, 2012 - You need to do yours to bud. Indonesia has the highest amount of Neanderthal genes followed by the ethnic dutch.
mazellezes Says:
May 5, 2012 - I don't know where you're getting you're getting your information from, that one video was from a california professor and put out right after the DNA mix was discovered, almost 1 1/2 yrs ago, ALL the other research I've looked at said it was French, Han Chinese, and Melanasian DNA analysed showing the prevalence between 1-4%. Aside from that vid I've seen NOTHING referencing Ethnic Dutch/Indonesian specific for higher prevalence. Do you know of anything else referencing those findings?
mazellezes Says:
May 5, 2012 - Something new though- they've found that the Sub Saharan Africans ALSO interbreeded, but instead of other descendants of our common anscestor (such as Neanderthal/Denisova) they were interbreeding with an anscestor we diverged from much earlier, ie, closer to the anscestors of modern humans/neanderthals/denisovas. It's believed to be why they show such a diverse immune system and is shown in the San and Yoruba probands, the same ones showing no Neanderthal/Denisova Dna.
Reido2828 Says:
May 6, 2012 - It may have been my mistake on this part. In terms of the Cro Magnons the dutch have the most or almost the exact same genetic origin as the Original Cro Magnons, who were the first to leave Africa. I just found the article you referenced to. Sorry for jumping to that conclusion my friend
54markl Says:
May 15, 2012 - Denisova genes have also been found present in the human genome. As scientific study proceeds, still more relatives may be found.

DravidianCivilzation Says:
Feb 16, 2012 - @yelldagain It did not happen in Europe or Siberia because all of Europe and Siberia was populated by black Africans (Grimaldi man and Cro Magnon) who killed the Neanderthal and Denisova apesThe interbreeding occurred in Central Asia which is the ancestral homeland of the Mongoloid and caucasoidWhen you understand that the original Chinese, Japanese and Koreans were NOT mongoloids, but rather were INVADED by this sub-species it will make sense.Examine the Caucasoid and mongoloid genome
