Mar 10, 2012 - my screen name has a meaning to it. i didnt spell it wrong or i would have changed it in the 9 years i have used it. i wasn't being a hatter i was just saying he or someone else smart saying it cant make it a fact only a theory.

JerryConlon Says:

Mar 10, 2012 - You clearly don't know what a scientific theory is. I implore you to pick up a grade 10 science textbook and look up the definition of what a theory is. It's not the English language version. A scientific theory is an interpretation that best suits the FACTS that we observed.

ickatabg Says:

Mar 11, 2012 - How does it offend you? Are you one of those ignorant people who believe in Adam and Eve?

ickatabg Says:

Mar 11, 2012 - And you believe that because?

crazyskateboardguy1 Says:

Mar 11, 2012 - i was joking hahaha who is ignorant now you fell for it.

thorkelson Says:

Mar 12, 2012 - ACH! he misses the precambrian explosion! This is not a minor error it is a fluke one off evolution that is responsible almost all macroscopic life

Mar 19, 2012 - I do appreciate the amount of time and passion that is placed into fascilitating these Ted types of talk. Yet, I think that David Christian's decision to produce something that is quite filled with gaps and which attempts to emulate that which Carl Sagan has already masterfully presented was an odd choice for David to have made. Mind you, David may inspire new generations to revisit the Cosmos series and to explore numerous meaningful Cosmology and Astrophysics sources & thingies.

Apr 1, 2012 - I know what happened after big bang (thanks to science).......if anyone have any idea where all the matter and energy came from , please reply !!! (he said before big bang there was no time, space etc., what about matter, energy ? if no, then it contradict mass and energy balance......if yes, they need space for sure)

houxianxu Says:

Apr 13, 2012 - Is it a vedio, ppt or prezi David used in the presentation?

McRaiged Says:

Apr 24, 2012 - no one knows how we got from absolute nothing, to the bang but the multi verse theory tries to explain it, look at the newest ted talk

fernandatralala Says:

Apr 30, 2012 - The best part was to see Daniel............ :D

FutureTillionaire Says:

May 1, 2012 - This religious debate in the comments section needs to stop. It's immature and a waste of time. Focus on Big History.

quantum8kid Says:

May 2, 2012 - i call it the Anthrop-sphere . . . .

averagejoeamerican Says:

May 4, 2012 - Please post the video showing any one:Creating something from nothingCreating life out of dead and inert stuff in a laboratory...then in a water puddle somewhereExplaining gravity and why it does what it doesThe mathematical odds of going from nothing to were we are now. Hint: They are roughly equivalent to winning the Power Ball twice a week for your entire life.Don't get all emotional on me, you guys sound like a cult.

averagejoeamerican Says:

May 4, 2012 - Finally, explain to me why thousands and thousands of professional professors and scientist don't believe in evolution. They have PhD's too. They are smart and many are not religious at all. They just know a loosing argument when they see it. Keep God out of it. The science sucks.

averagejoeamerican Says:

May 4, 2012 - Great presentation. It's almost like it was all planned out.....humm.....silly me.....it was all just a big accident.

mfh2112 Says:

May 10, 2012 - Nothing is really the wrong word because even nothing is something but it is something else. Possibly "preconditon" is a better word.

pmcc067 Says:

May 22, 2012 - collective learning failed you...

goose1077 Says:

May 23, 2012 - It's very simple. Evolution gave us a powerful tool in child rearing. Young children under age 7 or so are hard wired to believe and internalize everything their parents and elders tell them as truth. This trait is very important for our survival as a species. It means, when Mom says it's dangerous, it's dangerous and we don't stop to question it. It accelerates learning. Religion is a side affect of this one trait. We are taught something that has no basis in fact before age 7 and...

goose1077 Says:

May 23, 2012 - and we don't question it. Then later in life, after we gain the ability to reason and look at evidence, we already have this religion planted in our heads. Now we use our powers of reason to make up reasons why what was planted during our accept everything stage of development is true. With 10,000 plus...

goose1077 Says:

May 23, 2012 - years of practice at this, we are able to deceive even some reasoning adults into believing in religion--which is absolute rubbish if you can let go of your faith (that was implanted in your head as a child) for a second and actually think.

averagejoeamerican Says:

May 24, 2012 - Gee, I had a crack whore for a mom and my dad is in jail for murder one. "Religion" is the only thing that kept me from putting a bullet in my head. Thank goodness evolution prepared me for life with two wonderful parents to teach me and nurture me.BTW, your response made almost no sense wrt what I said...the science (or cult) sucks...

averagejoeamerican Says:

May 24, 2012 - Why is religion constantly brought up? I don't get it...this is a great presentation and an objective eye can see that it seems very ordered, planned. Take that for what you want, but keep religion out of the discussion.

goose1077 Says:

May 24, 2012 - The science doesn't suck. We see evolution happen in real time in organisms that reproduce quickly, like bacteria or insects. I doubt there are many non-religious who don't accept the science of evolution. (believe in is something we use to talk about things for which there is no proof)
