Title: Stevie Ray Vaughan's final concert
Added: Sep 20, 2007
Author: 5thbeatlerj
Duration: 8:33
Description:
Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, Alpine Valley Music Theater East Troy WI, August 26, 1990. Voodoo Child (Slight Return). SRV's last song with DT, and THEY were smoken! Stevie played one more song that night, a jam (Sweet Home Chicago) with his brother Jimmie Lee Vaughan, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, & Eric Clapton. However at 11+ minutes I could not use that song on YT (And there was no way I was going to cut it to fit). The sound quality on VC(SR) is better than SHC. That and the fact that this is an amazing version of the song makes me happy I used it for this video. I once read an article in a guitar magazine where SRV was being intervened immediately after his set, and he showed his friend his goose-bumps. Don't be surprised if you get them while watching and listening. So sit back, turn the lights down low, the volume way up, and prepare to get your mind blown! "Heaven done called another blues- stringer back home." SRV you are missed! Produced By: The Department of Redundancy Department Productions. 2007Proverbs 14:4

Dec 30, 2011 - Even Eric Clapton stood in his dressing room back stage shaking in awe of this force from heaven and felt ashamed that he had to come out after him, knowing in his heart that he could never reach the same level.

Jan 15, 2012 - I didn't get to see him but I was just heading to bed when my local radio station out of Appleton WI came on with breaking news that his helicopter had crashed and SRV had died. I cried for our loss and I sit in awe whenever I listen to him play. Rest in peace my brother, you are missed.

Jan 27, 2012 - Erica Clapton shook over Jimmie Hendrix before Vaugh was ever known. Not saying Vaugh wasn't a good guitar player. When I first heard him, I personally thought he was black.(lol). And I have alot of his songs, but Jimmie made alot if guitar player shake when he reformed rock and roll...

Apr 10, 2012 - At just 35, this man was phenomenal. If he were alive today, there would be no question of the greatest guitar player who ever lived. As it stands, I think it would take a great deal of persuasion to convince me otherwise. He should have been the headliner on this show.
Intraphase1 Says:
Apr 14, 2012 - I was lucky I had friends up north who worshiped SRV. Saw him once blitzed and once sober. His death came when I was struggling to stay on the straight and narrow inspiring me to sobriety. He lives forever now in our hearts and we in his, on the bright side he is probably vamping with Jimi getting off on playing eternity road. He loved Jimi intensely. Thank You Stevie.

May 9, 2012 - Stevie's Last Stand". Awesome performance from beginning to end. His set list was very much on point for the night. Before playing "Riviera Paradise" he says, "This song goes out to anyone in the world suffering for any reason. Might we all find some happiness soon if not now." Read the book "Stevie Ray: Soul To Soul". It is the only book SRV contributed to as a biography. Keri Leigh wrote it and it is amazing. It covers his entire life and career. Keri is a blues musician as well. SRV chose her

Dec 29, 2011 - I met him the day he died while we were playing the Alpine Valley golf course before going to the show. I sliced to the right of the fairway right by the back stage picnic area. He came down by the fence when we were yelling his name. Super nice guy, very humble. He signed my ticket for the show and I still have it today. It is my greatest possession.
