Most American directors would not dare to go to the places Almodavar goes. Since I take the Ausies are a mini version of the Americans. I can see why you were disappointed. Please remember Almodovar is Spanish and in his culture not everything has to be pretty or smooth as is the case of American Films that everything has to end with a "Happy there-after"

I personally didn't like Broken Embraces but that does not mean I have to be calling Almodovar a bad film director as you do on all of his films.
