Both Mac and Linux have emulators like wine on Linux that can easily be attained from the terminal through sudo apt-get install..., or the software manager on Ubuntu for free, or crossover on both for a few extra dollars. Aside from that Linux is a for the user, by the user OS, as opposed to Windows where you have to pay another $200+ every time a new upgrade comes out, and the updates aren't as thoroughly checked as they should be. I can't even begin to tell you...
