Feb 6, 2012 - What a brave ass, singing girl to have written this song back in those days, and to have performed it on national telly
1066nemo Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - Janis Ian has a back catalogue as good as anybody else in the music industry, this was only a taste of things to come, great concert in Ratoath in 2012, pity she never got the promotional support given to lesser so called talent about today, she'd be a very wealthy lady today
Holymakinaw Says:
Feb 13, 2012 - Well, she was born in '51, so if she was 16 here, that would have made it 1967. Great song.
DavyBoy007 Says:
Feb 15, 2012 - A truly wonderful song performed to absolute excellence. The emotion that flows during this rendition brings tears to my eyes.
WARDMAN3 Says:
Feb 21, 2012 - I was born in 1969 so I can't speak first hand, but being a pop music historian as a hobby, There was a lot more judgement back then. This song was banned from being played at many stations, hindering it's ability to climb the charts into the top 10.. Even other innocuous songs of the 60's were banned, Lou Christie's "Rhapsody in the Rain". So from a musical standpoint, it would seem there was a lot of judgement. The lyrics of today are jaw dropping at times, but no bans.
KennBurch Says:
Feb 21, 2012 - The ideals didn't blow up. The people who hated those ideals took power after 1969 and have largely held it since, and have done all they could to crush those ideals. It's not like we'd have been better off saving Jim Crow, for God's sake.
Helivz Says:
Feb 21, 2012 - FORGED BIRTH CERTIFICATE. McCain may not have been cheated out of anything, but Obama, an acronym for "One Big Ass Mistake America" has literally sold our nation downstream. McPalin would have stood by our country, supported Israel, and the Christians as well.

Mar 15, 2012 - she was really cute .

Mar 18, 2012 - I've got another Janis Ian song I haven't heard in years......"A Song For All The Seasons of Your Mind."
CookieZeal Says:
Mar 31, 2012 - Had to hear it again while I was in the kitchen when first heard. As a boomer,I knew that it would stand in spite of the contraversy. Had my own musical career, enchanted by miraculously chosen lyrics that I just HAD to include. The obscurity echoes "At Seventeen". Ya'll want to truly be affected by her personna, read her autobiography " Society's Child". You won't be able to put it down! A God-givenmessenger of the human condition who wasn't afraid to break barriers!

May 24, 2012 - That's right, if it weren't for the French we'd have never won the revolution. They bought supplies for Washington's army, sent troops, contained the British Fleet, and attacked them in the Caribbean that siphoned off resources their Army and Navy needed here in the Colonies.
perpetualmotion100 Says:
May 27, 2012 - YES that's right Then a few years later when the french needed the uas's help the usa told the french to go * themselves .& again in WW1&2 READ The Declaration of Independence The 1% has been around for a long time. The Civil War started because the north forgave it's own debt and voted Abe in after the south paid it's debt in full & before the south voted. The 1% sent it's army south to oppress with TAXES etc... No NEW slaves of any color were allowed to be brought into the us after the 1840's
