Apr 14, 2012 - I did this and it totally works. The pathetic remote for my stereo barely worked from across the room (~12ft) even w/ fresh batteries. After I popped it apart and did the tin foil thing, it worked perfectly even when I wasn't pointing the remote directly at the sensor. Thanks so much Kipkay!
