May 30, 2011 - Manifestly you have no idea of what liberalism is, then. Liberalism is not socialism; it is not communism. It is a hetereogeneous ideology premised on the liberty of the individual. There are, if you like, two principal factions: social liberals, like John Rawls, L.T. Hobhouse, T.H. Green (this is what I'd consider Bobby Kennedy to be); and classical liberals or libertarians like Hayek or minarchists like Nozick. Liberalism is antithetical to Communism.

jerzy862 Says:

Jun 5, 2011 - in the defense of Nixon, detente was a good thing for both parties and it was something JFK originally tried to start with the Limited Arms Control Treaty that banned atmospheric nuclear weapons testing.

Willredd94 Says:

Jun 9, 2011 - It's interesting that you'd say that. JFK was probably the most militant anti-soviet /communist president we've ever had. He even had J. Edgar Hoover intercept info on MLK for suspected communist activities. JFK was a Bush on foreign policy if anything or at least a Truman. Eisenhower invented the concept of detente and we had detente for a brief period of time during his second term.

jerzy862 Says:

Jun 9, 2011 - until the Cuban Missle Crisis, yes, JFK was a very millitant anti communist. but after that he realized how close the world had came to annihaltion during that and afterwards sought detente, beginging with the limited nuclear treaty with RussiaRFK wiretapped king but that was really to prove to Hoover that he had no communist affiliation. hoovers FBI had been constantly harassing King around the time and RFK finally let them install a wiretap so he could prove king wasnt communist

Jun 23, 2011 - "...we could end the war..." , hmmm1968

MrsFreshMorning Says:

Jul 12, 2011 - hence the reason why upper levels and the CIA killed him.

WilliamDRowlett Says:

Jul 18, 2011 - RFK probably would have beaten Nixon. I'm not sure he'd have beaten Hubert Humphrey for the Democrat nomination. We'll never know. What I do know is this. RFK wanted to pull out of Vietnam without a "Peace Plan" in place. Just take out US military from there. McGovern wanted to the same thing. That's stupid and naive. We (the USA) give up. Keep our 500 plus POW's you tortured. Keep the MIA's. We give up like sissy cowards. That's what you get with a Democrat Coward in Chief.

08dukeduke Says:

Jul 19, 2011 - Love the eye glasses back then...

Soulthinker2007 Says:

Aug 7, 2011 - I doubt it because Johnson will not let him be nominated to be President. If someone went back in time and prevented the asassination it would be chaos in Chicago because of the Kennedy deligates.

Obasiliasfilosofos Says:

Aug 14, 2011 - Bob for the Job

Obasiliasfilosofos Says:

Aug 14, 2011 - You loss the war politically in Vietnam long before you did at home, For that reason alone the war was unwinnable, You simply failed to convince the south Vietnamese people that you had their best interest at heart as they saw you as just another racist white conqueror like the french, You also didn't know who you were fighting since the Hochimin movement was staunchly nationalist before anything they where hardly vassals to Moscow or Beijing.

paramedicEmergency51 Says:

Aug 22, 2011 - the Kennedys were the best democrats and im a fellow republican

tubub Says:

Sep 8, 2011 - I think Nixon did some okay things, but the nation would undoubtedly be very different had RFK not been assassinated. The biggest thing is Vietnam, and maybe we would've won that war

ManUntdForever Says:

Sep 24, 2011 - What a wonderful family this was. Such a shame they were never given the time to achieve all of their potential. The world would have been a better place.

exenrontexas Says:

Oct 8, 2011 - There are incredible mysteries involved in the murders of JFK and RFK and also incredible disinformation spread around to confuse the truth. What we KNOW is the LBJ hated both of them and LBJ main support came from Brown and Root, an oil field and defense contractor who today is known as...HALLIBURTON.

exenrontexas Says:

Oct 8, 2011 - I remeber when Nixon told the American people in 1968 that he had a plan to END THE WAR IN VIETNAM. Instead he prolonged, expanded and extended it and it only ended in 1975 after Nixon resigned in disgrace. Marine General Smedley Butler said that MOST US wars were started by and for the benefit of WALL STREET. He would know since he served 34 years, fought in FIVE wars and was awarded TWO Congressional Medals of Honor. His book, "WAR is a RACKET" was never read by Nixon.

MrsFreshMorning Says:

Oct 11, 2011 - and that is why my friend is why he was killed

Nov 3, 2011 - if this snivling little shit had been elected the russians would have shredded him like cole slaw. too bad he was assinated. old nikita turned his brother inside out over cuba and mi\ssles in turkey. t5hink of what they would do to this buck-toothed little shit.

billyguns2 Says:

Nov 6, 2011 - RFK was our last best hope for a bright future and a great America; my heart broke when he was killed and since that time I have never felt the same about any politician, all stooges for evil and corrupt liars, murderers, and thieves.

stc40 Says:

Jan 12, 2012 - If only................if only..................

12Aggiefan Says:

Jan 24, 2012 - Why does everybody assume RFK would beat Nixon?

remick1974 Says:

Feb 1, 2012 - I wasn't born until 6 years later, but this still breaks my heart.

TayEmification Says:

Feb 11, 2012 - I'm not American but i completely agree with you 100%. I shutter when i see the footage of JFK's assassination and the same goes to RFK. Such tragedy, they will not be forgotten.

cynic2all Says:

Feb 13, 2012 - "...the importance of farmers"? By '68 there weren't THAT many farmers voting. And he knew about the poor, the middle incomers, .... Oh, we could have been sure of that, couldn't we? Growing up in a family of extreme privilege, where Pop bought their way into what they wanted or out of what they didn't want. Certainly I regret he was shot and killed, but this whole Kennedy family fraud is hopefully on the way out, with none now in any elected office.
