Apr 11, 2012 - Saw Genesis do "The Lamb Lies Down.." concert live. Awesome, but it was totally new material to me. A double album only just released, & it took up most of the concert. They played a few of the old "greats". I was a little disappointed that I did not hear "Musical Box." The "Lamb Lies Down.." is a masterpiece imo, but it needs a little time to get into. Its deep in a good way. The best live band I have ever seen by a mile.

Apr 15, 2012 - After Gabriel and Hackett left, that group went off in a whole new direction, one I chose not to follow.

Apr 19, 2012 - Duke, Duchess and a couple of other songs were on same as Carpet Crawlers. After that album, Phil Collins dictated the direction of the band. Yeah, they made millions, but as often happens, many of original followers simply jump out. Like you, I was one of those. I kept following Peter Gabriel and his progressive music and I gave away the two Post GabrialGenesis albums given to me as presents. I listened them, but I found myself drifting away in boredom. In the end, most rock & rollers moved on!

Apr 26, 2012 - Gee, I always thought that after, The Lamb Lied down on Broadway, that Peter wanted to persue an acting career, and just figured there was no further to go with Genesis.I still enjoyed the wind wuthering and the album with ripples. But after that, i think they suffered brain damage!

Apr 29, 2012 - yeah, pretty much same here...after Seconds Out, I kinda called it a day with Genesis..not to say that there were not some great moments on ATW3, Duke & Abacab...but very few and far between. Pretty sad top 40 end to such an amazing band.

May 22, 2012 - Yeahhh, I did the same at that time. You can not compare the 2 singers I think, not mentioning the new pop style.

May 22, 2012 - Just looking at the pic at the 0:20 mark, wasn't aware Derek Smalls from Spinal Tap was also in Genesis?

May 24, 2012 - You were not alone. When the talent left, all they had to go for was cheap commercial love songs. It's a damn shame, since they made masterpieces..!
