Apr 1, 2012 - About SRV. Saw him early in his career, about 200 showed up in a place that would seat 2000. After a couple of songs, he looked out at us, sat on the edge of the stage, and said, "There aren't many of us, but there's enough." He then sat there for the next 20 minutes and blew the top of my head off. Needless to say, will forever be a fan. Amazing talent - certainly would gave stayed a alternative to the sad current pop strain.

He hypnotises me and mesmorizes me every time i watch him play. I wish we could bring him back to life.He has such a sweet gentle spirit and so much heart ,you can see it in his face and in his playing. Sadly there are a lot of people 'out there' with their own addictions- from drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. that 'do not' want 'others', including SRV, overcome their 'demons', - 'misery loves company'- I guess, but he did! SRV thanked & gave ALL the glory to God! He would share with his audience that he almost died from his addictions & thanked God for giving him another chance & saying "please don't get messed up with drugs" etc. Now THAT'S a role mod!

He overcame & conquered drug and alcohol addiction and became one of the top guitarist of all time. If not for that fatefull day in 1990 in Wisconsin he would still be here with us. Eric Clapton changed his own life bc of Stevies death.EC was there with him at his final concert.
