Slipknot finally won a Grammy Award after being nominated almost every year of their existence. The band took the Best Metal Performance award for "Before I Forget" from Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). In a ceremony not seen on broadcast TV, Slipknot accepted the award. The Grammy win was especially meaningful for band founder, Clown, who lost his father a few weeks ago while on tour. Slipknot outlasted songs from Shadows Fall, Mudvayne, Ministry and Rammstein to win their first Grammy. The band is taking a break after a solid year's worth of touring.
