May 14, 2012 - I don't usually like to knock the classics but I'm sorry, this isn't scary! Not that the new one was really scary but the whole modern house and plain door and fireplace? Yah not scary. At least the new one is in a huge scary house. I read that this was one of the scariest made for tv movies ever made...oh please!!! It wasn't a tv movie but if u wanna talk about a movie with demon like creatures that was scary...go watch the descent! But to be fair...what categorised as scary in the 70s is not

May 19, 2012 - I saw this movie when i was only about 6 or 7 so it scared me and until now seeing again it had still scared me just remembering it . My brother liked to keep me up to watch horror flicks with him. And they wondered why I always had nightmares LOL. Another one that always scared me was Trilogy of terror with the tribal doll that comes to life. If you haven't seen it check it out .

May 22, 2012 - It's very simple. If you weren't alive or at least 3-4 years old in 1973 and saw it on TV late at night (after 9pm that is) you probably won't find it scary. But trust me a ton of pre-teen American kids in the mid-70s had their nights haunted by this movie big time. This one and "Bad Ronald" scared the crap outta me, and watching them again now brings back at least some of that spookiness. Meanwhile I can see why today's younger viewers would not be able to appreciate it. You had to be there!

May 30, 2012 - I grew up in the 90s, but my dad and I would watch all the classic 60-70s horror films and I found them scary and lost a LOT of sleep over them. As a result I tend to think today's horror films are a joke. I love the classics because they rely on story and suspense and skill rather than cheap shock factor.

Feb 20, 2012 - No, this was a very scary tv movie. The other movie you're thinking about is Trilogy of Terror, starring Karen Black. That movie featured a short story about a Zuni warrior doll that comes to life and terrorizes a woman.
