Jan 1, 2012 - SHUT UP WITH THE PHO NON SENSE.I know this isn't the 'traditonal' or 'authentic' (like what LadyLatias said) but this is what HE does to make Pho. Which basically pronounced ph- (like a "f")-uh and LOTS AND LOTS of BEEF (or chicken, maybe even tofu but I don't think thats pho anymore D:) in the broth for full flavor and thinly sliced beef (or once again chicken or tofu ^-^) and possibly vietnamese meatballs <3 -FRUM Vietnamese 5 Star Restaurant Owner (Daughter chef-ish & waitress)

Jan 9, 2012 - @ndcpro1998 It's not even that. In Vietnam, dogs are actually WILD DOGS. It is like eating wild boar... BOARS ARE PET TOO... in the U.S. HOVD [hop off viet's dick]

Jan 9, 2012 - @trannMonica I mean the guy you were talking about... I was just adding in your reply.
MoriAryka Says:
Jan 10, 2012 - yep...I know Vietnamese enjoy eating DOGs which gives me the creeps... however, it's their right to do that, I have nothing to say ...I know Phở is a very traditional dish of VN but I don't like it pretty much. I love Bánh mì Saigon and Chaó trắng + hột vịt muối ^_^
Mr2Phreshh Says:
Jan 10, 2012 - hey that wasn't bad i would finish that bowl in 5 mins and 20 secs if i was high

Jan 13, 2012 - oh my god, take the lime out of the boil! you only need to squeeze the juice out of the slice and discard the rest. Also, please don't slurp lol ^^. You're mistaking Vietnamese with Japanese/Korean table manners. Often times, you show the cook that you've enjoyed the meal by finishing EVERYTHING on your plate and giving polite feedbacks such as a simple smile as you eat, saying "mmM" or "wah" or straightforward "ngon!" btw your boil of pho looks mmM mmM good.
nguyendu519 Says:
Jan 16, 2012 - You're suppose to squeeze the lemon juice in there but not just let it sit in the bowl while eating nerd
chuchuchuchia Says:
Jan 17, 2012 - PEOPLE Faux means fake/imitation. Now I think you can figure out the rest. Man, frikin nitwits.
thenQUYNHsaid Says:
Jan 20, 2012 - okay, so he says it like "foh" and not "fuh", fine, po-tah-to... he admits this is FAUX pho, and not the traditional recipe for the authentic stuff, so whatever... but to use any red sauce on pho [real or not] that isn't sriracha sauce is incredibly sacrilegious, my good sir. D:
Piggieelaydee Says:
Jan 22, 2012 - This video isn't bad. A tip to make the broth more clear is to preboil the bones and then clean them before using for the real broth. When I make pho, I use pure bones for broth(oxtail) and separate meat for serving (filet mignon) this is common in Vietnamese restaurants around my area. When simmering to make the broth, it's important to remove any scum from surface of pho broth
ManderBrat Says:
Jan 24, 2012 - @nachoandfries That is never the case whenever I go out and eat pho. If you don't slurp, you're just white.
oopoo64 Says:
Feb 4, 2012 - Doesn't matter if he pronounced it wrong or maybe is confused on Asian slurping culture, but that soup looks awesome and I will be making it with oxtail included of course. Chef John is the internet king of cooking so show some respect.
