Mar 12, 2012 - If You Do Not Feel Slash Feeling In This Solo You Are Dead! He Is With His Blues Idol! If You Have Your Idol What Will You Do? Yes Impress He! Slash You Got It! /,,/

MiMiN91 Says:

Mar 13, 2012 - Slash is most definitely influenced by the greats of blues; Muddy Waters, BB King, Buddy Guy and others. But he draws cues and influences more so from blues-ROCK guitar players like Jimmy Page, Duane Allman and Jimi Hendrix (you can tell in his playing, if nothing). But he is most definitely a BLUES-rock guitar player, and has forged possibly the most unique fusion of the two since Hendrix. That's why he sticks to it and plays ONLY THAT. RESPECT!

KatrinaMess Says:

Mar 14, 2012 - I'd say Slash has waited at a crossroads at midnight in The Delta. Got what he went for. He may not be Electric Chicago, but he's a rocker anyway- based on blues but morphed away. Nice demonstration of something he doesn't do very much. Besides- which of you screen heads would ever get to sit next to BB King holding a guitar on stage? 'Nuff said.

guiterry Says:

Mar 14, 2012 - I give Slash mad props for playing the blues, on stage, WITH THE KING OF THE BLUES LOOKING OVER HIS SHOULDER!!! I think it takes some pretty hefty stones just to keep your composure in that situation.

Crashmonk1 Says:

Mar 15, 2012 - I was there that night and what a night of blues that was. A load a guys jamming with BB king. King of the blues watching n listening to what they were playing. Must have be huge to be on stage next to the man that still blows us away today. Slash (as you would imagine) was as cool as could be!

Th1sWasATriumph Says:

Mar 25, 2012 - And yet you will not find many phrases that do not employ accents, or are indeed made entirely of accented notes. A phrase is a distinct group of notes. The only way Slash could be said to be scale running is if there was no delineation between the notes he plays and no point at which a phrase could be said to begin. It's immaterial if the phrase is a three note lick or a 32nd note swept arpeggio; it's still a distinct phrase. Slash stops and starts and plays multiple standalone phrases . . .

Th1sWasATriumph Says:

Mar 25, 2012 - . . . and therefore he has phrasing. Doesn't matter an ounce of shit if you think he's good or not, he has phrasing. He literally plays phrases. His discography is littered with solos where he ISN'T playing through the notes of a scale at regular intervals without stopping, but playing phrases. Anything else?

jriverband Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - totally agree with your opinion. In he's licks and solos in G'n'R you can clearly see his blues influences, but he can't play Real BLUES at all, is not his thing. He's a completely amazing Hard Rock guitar player.

MrDuelingBanjo Says:

Apr 13, 2012 - Why the fuck is Mick Hucknall sitting next to Slash?????

Swiftkillah1300 Says:

Apr 13, 2012 - He can play blues but his blues is just no very slow and mellow. He needs power chords and aggresive stuff in his blues. His blues are more angry than sad lol

MrBleedingbullets Says:

Apr 14, 2012 - me

PeteManic Says:

Apr 20, 2012 - Who the fuck invited Mick Hucknall?!?!

TimBirkenholz Says:

May 3, 2012 - Who are you to say wether Slash is a blues player or not, he's doing fine. I think this was even harder for Slash to play than his normal stuff, since BB is pushing him to play even more, and yet he nailed it.

ErikCartman9000 Says:

May 3, 2012 - his tone is so weak. he needs the power of a semi-hollow guitar!

g1asseye Says:

May 4, 2012 - Well wouldn't you be?! haha

guitarmaniac862 Says:

May 5, 2012 - well said

jgrvitor Says:

May 25, 2012 - 2x Pure Feeling

Rideandlively Says:

May 28, 2012 - Its good but he definitely is more on the rock side of playing, his phrases are "rushed" in the sense that there are no breaks in his playing. If you are a blues fan you'll know what i'm talking about. Slash rocks though.
