Jan 14, 2012 - Just reading about liquid hydrogen. Think about this. Our entire scale of temperature ( USA you guys are not included ), is set around the liquidity of water. 0-100 Degrees. It is.The other thing is everything has a liquidity range. So a gas like hydrogen: has a liquidity range at -259 C -> -252 C, iron: 1538 C -> 2862 C. H2O: 0 C -> 100 C.That any gas can be a solid if it is cold enough and any solid can be a gas ( and presumably a plasma ) if it is hot enough is awesome !

BigMeezyStyle Says:
May 8, 2012 - Believing everything you read isn't a problem? If you listened to part one, you would have heard Feynman state that you shouldn't believe in brushing your teeth just because you dentist says so and all he did is read it in school. I think you're missing Feynman's important points.
BigMeezyStyle Says:
May 8, 2012 - I'm a Christian and I love Feynman. He is one of the greatest minds of the last few generations. And I don't think he would be in favor of your illiberal intolerance of other people who think differently than you.
chris060372 Says:
May 9, 2012 - I'm confused. Are you agreeing with me? My point was that religious people are closed minded and believe only what one very old book says. To be accurate you have to study. Feynman's point about brushing teeth is that you shouldn't automatically take old science as being 100% accurate. It should be questioned. Not disbelieved, but questioned. I think you've misunderstood me if you think i'm missing his point. Either that or you're missing his point.
BigMeezyStyle Says:
May 9, 2012 - I'm a religious person and I'm very open minded. Feynman is one of my heroes, so the bigoted point you were attempting to make about religious people doesn't hold true. Feynman preferred to look at things like a Martian who knows nothing, you on the other hand obviously believe everything you read and you're missing out on not only the pleasure of finding things out, but more importantly, you're missing out on the truth. Free your mind and the truth will follow. Open your mind kid!
BigMeezyStyle Says:
May 9, 2012 - It isn't surprising that you're finding yourself confused. In over your head?
chris060372 Says:
May 9, 2012 - Kid? I'm 40. Where, in what i wrote previously, do i say i believe everything i read? That was part of my point that things have to be questioned (as i always resubmitted in my reply to you "you shouldn't automatically take old science as being 100% accurate. It should be questioned. Not disbelieved, but questioned." Try to argue a point and not go straight for jibes. Read what i wrote, not what you hoped i'd wrote.
chris060372 Says:
May 9, 2012 - aah, i see. when i wrote that my friend said i believe everything i read, that was just his assertion as an argument against people who study and don't just put all their faith in fictional characters from a 2500 year old book. It was an incorrect assertion on his behalf and one you half echoed incorrectly also. I question all the time.
BigMeezyStyle Says:
May 9, 2012 - Um, I thought you said that your good friend thinks you believe everything you read. That person knows you better than I do. You started with the ad hominem attacks. The fact is that you are a religious bigot and I assumed that was a result of your readings, but maybe you came to those vicious views on your own.
chris060372 Says:
May 9, 2012 - what i think you meant is i'm an ANTI-religious bigot. yes? I didn't say he was a 'good' friend. he was trying to make a point about religion being superior to science and so went for the flavour of the month argument about non-religionists believing everything they read. he believes 'belief' is a virtue in itself and stronger than evidence. have you read the bible? i have. i'm sure if you actually read it as a historical or credible document, you would start shaking your head very quickly.
BigMeezyStyle Says:
May 9, 2012 - See, your know it all attitude is exactly what Feynman preached about you bigot.
chris060372 Says:
May 9, 2012 - i don't know it all, which is why i always ask questions. my original point. i'm just anti-theism, the spread of theism and the search for truth. this is Feynman's point. the search for truth. you won't find the absolute truths in a holy book. for every profound statement, there is an irrational comment about the supernatural. give it a break now. i made my point and so did you.
JohnnyFuckpig Says:
May 25, 2012 - Inspirational guy. It's his passion and curiosity that made him great, not intelligence. I bet there are thousands of potential Feynman's out there who just don't have the will to learn the way he did.
