Mar 25, 2012 - Yea, I know what you're saying about not liking the fancy kicks and everything. The way I look at it though is if you can do the fancy and unessicary kicks, it'll make the kicks you can use a lot easier for you.

Mar 26, 2012 - The kick boxer wasn't very good, and the wing chun student was very calm and obviously well trained. Both arts are good, but I prefer wing chun for myself lol I've done both and am still in wing chun so you can tell which one was for me lol

Tezcatlipoca1984 Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - yeah, that sounds logical, used to think the same way bout karate kata and all that stuff, tought if i practiced well enough then the movements would come all by mere reflex when i should need em, I had my first wing tzun lesson yesterday by the way, and it is was so amazing, at first, i was very goofy since the stance and the guard is quite different to what i am used to, you know,

Tezcatlipoca1984 Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - the basic stance sifu told me to keep my full body looking forwards, not not with only one side facing the front, keep the weight on the back leg, both arms right in front my chest in a center line and my head as back away as possible, certainly not what i was really used to, and he showed me a very simple movement which i found very effective, barely moving my arms and with very few effort i was able to counter attack a right hand jab sending the oponent to the ground,

Tezcatlipoca1984 Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - and when it mas turn to attack i tought yeah lets see how good this shit is and launched my best karate punch as if really meaning to knock the other guy down and i was painfully blocked and hit on the face followed by a series of fast punches to the chest till fell down to the ground, it was just so awesome i could not believe it, this WT discipline seems to be quite simple and effective, focussed on finishing oponent as quick as possible, just loved it!!!!

Mar 30, 2012 - Lol, that's bad ass. I wish there were more types of martial arts in our area, it sux having such a limited varriety to choose from.

Apr 9, 2012 - Wing chun is the real deal

Shadowx209 Says:

Apr 16, 2012 - u ppl dumb, theres no superior martial art, every martial art has the same technique as a jab, hook, uppercut, straight punch, kicks , knees, when you in a real fight you gonna forget everything and start using boxing lol,

musicguitarr08 Says:

Apr 19, 2012 - They're both really good. The wing Chun guy is faster though

trolollin Says:

1984WakeUp Says:

Apr 24, 2012 - The WC fighter in this video does everything right in this video as far as my WC training is comparable, and if you CONTRAST THIS VIDEO WITH SO MANY SHITTY ONES all over YouTube, you will see a huge difference. This guy doesn't chase, he doesn't hop around, he doesn't respond to fakes, he doesn't force the attack, he uses shortest-distance kicks to meet or stop the bigger incoming kicks, keeps his hands up, steps driving with his back leg, knows his distance, etc.

1984WakeUp Says:

Apr 24, 2012 - He's not faster, it just looks that way. The KB guy is making much bigger (longer, round, etc) kicks, and the WC guy knows exactly when to fire his shorter-distance kicks down the center line to beat them. He is fast, but I don't think he's faster, the kicks are just much shorter and direct to the target. That's the correct way to kick in WC. You'll also notice his feet stay correctly planted. The WC stance becomes mobile at Chum Kiu level and beyond, but we don't run, or bounce, or chase.

musicguitarr08 Says:

Apr 25, 2012 - @1984WakeUp good point. You know alot about this stuff. Wing Chun is extremely effective!

MrTywheezy Says:

May 5, 2012 - Who kno were they teach wing chun in cincinnati for cheap

mightymeatmonsta Says:

May 16, 2012 - That front kick seems to be really effective in stopping his opponents rythm. Very smart. You can see that the wing chun guy is not of a high caliber, but he seems to hold his own. Yes, neither one is very good, but still interesting none the less...

mightymeatmonsta Says:

May 16, 2012 - Not if you train in a martial art for a long time. That does seem to happen when the two fighters are not of master status, but usually masters have been doing it long enough to be able to comfortably fight in there own style. Not all kicks and punches are created equal. Wing chun comes from a short distance. A lot shorter than any other martial art. Karate, boxers and others come from either the side, or from the outside in which takes longer. Same with certain kicks like roundhouse kicks.

mightymeatmonsta Says:

May 16, 2012 - The one that WORKS IN THE STREET!!

Shadowx209 Says:

May 16, 2012 - in a street fight, the fighting is all sloppy, your not gonna use your taun sao, and fook sao lol, you just gonna throw anything , if it hits your in luck

mightymeatmonsta Says:

May 17, 2012 - That's not true. If you trained long enough, your skills will be good enough to use on the street. It just takes a few years to be that good.

dadankskunk Says:

May 19, 2012 - that's why you practice til it becomes muscle memory, so that kick or punch you throw is in perfect form.

ravens3558 Says:

May 19, 2012 - I beat your teacher like a little dog how dare you challenge me.

zimonslot Says:

May 30, 2012 - Give the wing chun dude some regular BOXING gloves and see if his punches still hurt!

TheRepublicPanda Says:

May 30, 2012 - He is wearing boxing gloves...he's just wearing a different type than classic one so it doesn't hinder his martial arts...
