What irony that after so many years of abuse he saw his way clear and was truly happy in the end. RIP SRV, you were well loved.

May 24, 2012 - When Stevie Ray got killed, I was working the graveyard shift, 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. at a compressor factory in Ky. at the time. I was on my way home and flipped on the radio in my car at about 7:15 a.m. The first news that came across about his chopper crashing got reported that it was Eric Clapton, not Stevie Ray Vaughan who had been killed. Because a lot of Clapton's top tour personal guys were also on board. I remember that vividly. Getting home thinking it was Clapton who had been killed.
