Oct 13, 2009 - it's a sex pistols cover. :)
TheElecGeek Says:
Oct 13, 2009 - Well, the bit at the end is from Sex Pistols - Anarchy In The UK. She mentions it doing the same song at Mobile Jam Fest in Toronto earlier that year (it's on YouTube).I was at this show, and I swear when she introduced it she said something about it being a cover, but I agree, I can't find it online, either.
wojo4hitz Says:
Oct 13, 2009 - i swear she did too... otherwise i don't know why on earth i would have labeled it that way? it's not like i knew what she was talking about!
TheSkyAboveAblaze Says:
Sep 8, 2010 - Seventeen was an important age for Emily Haines; the Broken Social Scene song "Anthems For A Seventeen-Year-Old Girl" were her lyrics and vocals, and in a handful of interviews she's made reference to the time she spent in her arts high school, where she met many of the people she'd continue making music with for the rest of her life. In addition to the "seventeen" in the lyrics, the songs itself is very much in her style both lyrically and musically. The 'cover' references The Sex Pistols part.
