Jul 14, 2011 - This song is so beautiful -it brings tears to my eyes as it takes me back to when I was 12 years old-looking out the rear window of a 1970 Chevy Impala heading down to Myrtle Beach S.C.with my Mom and Dad and 2 brothers--It's a "good feeling" song---REAL Good

Aug 21, 2011 - Apples & pears. You might equally have clicked upon Johnny singing Bridget The Midget (I know there's no such version) - & concluded that Johnny's no Ray Stevens! ; )

Sep 28, 2011 - When does it get to the funny part?

BgMsDangerus Says:

Sep 29, 2011 - Sorry, it doesn't. One of his "serious" songs. Lets face it, Ray could sing the phone book and make it sound good!

Precipitation Says:

Sep 29, 2011 - I was just making a joke :). I used to listen to Ray Stevens a lot in the '80s. I even saw him play live in '87. He did do some serious stuff early in his career, and I don't believe he actually became a full-fledged comedy act until He Thinks He's Ray Stevens came out. I like this song quite a bit. It reminds me of what it felt like to have a crush on someone when I was 12.

BgMsDangerus Says:

Sep 30, 2011 - Thanks for the heads-up. Have a bad case of the covets since you actually got to see him play live. Have you heard his Indian Love Call uploaded by bettyd1954? Its one of his serious songs, the only humor is if you know 50's doowop music. The female backup singers are singing shaloop shaloop. Plus, the photos of different animal couples are gorgeous, especially at 0:21. She looks like she has blue eye shadow on. At least I think she is the she of the two. Happy listening.

musicollector1975 Says:

Oct 1, 2011 - Definitely, categorically, Ray Stevens' best song ever and THE best version of this standard by anyone. No one can even come close to this masterpiece. Thank you for this memory from 1975, when times were good, indeed.

Dec 1, 2011 - So glad to have found this song, after all these years... I lost the single 20 years ago and could not remember the singer, only found all the slow versions. But I like this one best! Even though its not the original version. Look it up on Wiki....

Mar 25, 2012 - just beautiful- ray took this old standard "torch song" and made it into a country hit. also one of his few "serious" songs- i think the first popular version of "misty" was recorded in the '60's by johnny mathis (?), andy williams, (?) tony bennett (?), - one of those guys; it's on the soundtrack of that clint eastwood stalker flick. does anyone know who played the banjo on ray's version? i want to try once again to master the banjo, but have trouble making the crossover from guitar.
