I used to run a 6870, and even that could barely run Crysis at ultra with full AA at your resolution. There is no way a 550Ti could max it out at all very high and 8X AA with truly playable FPS. That said, all you need is a PC that can run it on medium to kick the 360 version in the ass, so it doesn't really matter that much.

May 26, 2012 - nVidia doesn't make "much" better drivers than AMD. Generally, their drivers are slightly more stable, but the difference is slight, and bad drivers only make a difference with brand new games or brand new cards. An AMD 6870 will get considerably better FPS than a 550Ti, regardless of the drivers, which are good on both by the way. Of course you can run Crysis at max settings at 1080p on a 550Ti with AA, but the framerate will be terrible. Watch this:/watch?v=lc3coIcVUpc

May 26, 2012 - Yes, but his setup is clearly better than yours. Keep in mind, he's running it on a state of the art test bench, so I can assure you there is no CPU bottleneck in that video. Furthermore, since you said that a $600.00 PC could max it, you would have to buy a low end i3 to fit that budget, which would be way worse than what he's running. Even with a factory OC, I still don't believe you could pull off those FPS with that card. Like I said, those numbers are closer to 6870 FPS.

May 27, 2012 - I was actually telling that to yobobjm, but whatever. Your i3 2100 is NOT right behind the 2500k. Sure, it's decently similar in a lot of games that are not written to utilize the extra cores, but for everything else, it's a lot worse. And really, it does still lag behind the 2500k pretty significantly in some games, especially when the 2500k is OC'd. Also, I wasn't talking about the 2500k; I was talking about the high end i7 being used on the test bench, which destroys your i3.

Also, with your good gaming PC, you not only get a superior gaming experience, but you can use it to do other productive things, like video or music editing for example. I'm sure you wrote this on a PC, just not a good one. If you had built a good PC, rather than buying a lousy one and a console, you could have better gaming, better web browsing, and, well, better everything, for the same price that you likely paid for your current setup.
