May 30, 2012 - The original version by Steve Perry & Journey will always be the best. There is no singer than can top Perry. He's a legend. However, of all the covers ever done of this song, Sam Tsui does it best. Tsui is an amazing artist. Even does it better than Arnel Pineda who Journey uses as a Perry-clone (an attempt at). I do agree though. Anyone watching these covers by Tsui, Glee or any of the others most certainly needs to go view the original by Steve Perry.

Usually pieces by a band have to be changed a little so that different parts of a choir can sing it in a more seamless way without one part completely overtaking another-considering that in most cases songs have a lead singer and back up vocals(not really ideal for choirs.) Sorry for the long winded explanation.
