Feb 18, 2010 - I assume that you are referring to the STS-126 loss of a tool bag during an EVA while space walker Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper was cleaning up an exploded grease cartridge. NASA never determined if they forgot to tether the bag or if the tether hook came loose on its own. FWIW, Capt. Piper retired from NASA the following year and returned to her U.S. Navy duties. I've never seen any indication that her retirement after two shuttle missions was related to the tool bad incident.

Feb 18, 2010 - The female astronaut shown in this video serving on STS-130 is Kathryn "Kay" Hire, also a Capt in the U.S. Navy. (She is a Naval Flight Officer in the reserves, but was recalled from NASA to active duty to support the war from 2001 to 2003.) This is her second shuttle flight, the first being STS-90 in 1998. She is unusual in that besides being a Naval Flight Officer, she worked her way up through the ranks as a NASA engineer for six years before being selected as an astronaut.

Sep 24, 2010 - if he had space elevator, kind of line from earth to iss or somwere in space, then here would be no problem to install fiber optic lines broken at, say, kilometers to connect the line moving parts because, as you know the sun line to grow and such a call to reverse the stress. Also you can use line in so much thousands ways!
