Apr 30, 2012 - yep, thats exactly what would happen. boxing is an exellent sport but in kickboxing theres just more accesable weapons. in these k1 rules fights knees are used also so up close the boxer gets kneed and at a distance he gets kicked and punched. boxing is an exellent sport but you just have to take it for what it is and its respected strenths

Apr 30, 2012 - who would win would come down to both style and skill but if the boxer and kickboxer were equally skilled at the same level in their sport then the kickboxer would have an advantage by nature of their sports. these kickboxers who fight under k1 rules basically use blunt force trauma not just with their hands but also feet, shins and knees. boxers only use hands and all else is illegal in boxing. it just comes down to having more weapons in the arsenal. i love boxing and i love kickboxing.

Apr 30, 2012 - i faught at a pro level as a kickboxer and i was registered in the u.s boxing league as an amatuer so i know my way around both sports. i dont have a prefference, i just take them both for what they are. the advantage would go to the kickboxer though by nature. think of it like going into a battlefield with only a gun when the other guy also has a gun but also grenades, banets etc. just better to have more you know, it leaves more room for versitile attacks.

Apr 30, 2012 - You're 100% right. I've always understood that the boxer would would probably need to much more experienced than the kickboxer to win.I was only trying to point out to the other youtube users that it's not impossible for a boxer to beat a kickboxer.

Boxers are therefore left open to leg sweeps, kicks to the legs, groin, stomach, ribs and head. In fact I'd say boxers probably have little awareness of having to defend below the waist as they've never actually trained regularly for such attacks.BTW. The kickboxer failed to follow through with punches or kicks when the boxer went down after the leg sweeps, could be boxing rules.

There are lots and lots of way and technique on how to defend and deflect against most kind of kick. just remember one thing, once you lift one leg, you are out of balance and it is easy to tackle or smash you down to the ground.
