May 13, 2012 - Having a time with my life as well the music helps to heal but drinking is what I keep falling on. Got in from Afghanistan a few months ago and every day say I wont drink and still fall short. I can truly understand Keiths dilemma.

May 18, 2012 - I just lost my brother to alcohol 5 months ago. He was my lifelong best friend and life isnt the same without him. I cant believe that so many people live for years with these problems but my brother only drank for 1 year and died of a heart attack after quitting cold turkey at age 47. When does it stop hurting the survivors? I know life has to go on but im so sad...sisters need their brothers and im devastated that he left me.

May 18, 2012 - pauleeanna it doesnt stop, you just get used to life with the empty spot that he left. After a while, you will mostly remember the good times you guys had together and the sadness will be just a footnote. I lost two brothers growing up and it seemed to work that way with me. I hope that helps a little. Know that God is taking care of him up there and he still there with you. Ron

May 25, 2012 - Aww thanks for your kind reply. It is very sad to love any loved one but siblings have a special bond from growing up together & days get better but the hurt is still there. I know it will continue to get better but i dont want to forget him. And i have guilt that i could have or should have tried to help him more...to beat alcoholism.
