Feb 13, 2012 - No joke. If you're a horror fan you have to watch this unique carioca horror series. Embodiment of Evil was not as good as the classics, but still worth a watch.

Laveticus Says:
Mar 13, 2012 - Yeah, that cheese factor. Kinda like a man putting on a fly helmet and calling it a mask, with a regular body going through a teleporter fully clothed?! Sorry, I'm still at a shock and disbelief that you chose the old Fly over the '86 one.The acting waz pretty cheesed too, except for Price. He's always genious
Elicose Says:
Mar 29, 2012 - did you notice that the coffin joe box set has a slight etch of the silouette of coffin joe at the bottom
Kamelrav Says:
Apr 13, 2012 - Man i would love to see At midnight i take your soul...im have only seen Strange World of coffin joe and it was great, but it wasn't so much Coffin Joe that i'be expected instead it was 3 shortfilms. The first film were about a dollmaker and it was great, the second film were about a guy that was fucking possesed with a girl and that film were kinda boring, and the last film were about coffin joe were he show a husband and a wife that instinct is stronger then the sense

Apr 16, 2012 - i never thought you know anything about brazilian films, James! i guess maybe after you done that AVGN movie production, maybe you should do some research on portuguese films and yet, review it! oh yeah, i'm also from Portugal :)

May 2, 2012 - @Laveticus the remake sucks
harrysecombegroupie Says:
May 5, 2012 - I couldn't agree more with this review! I absolutely adore the first two Coffin Joe films - each time I watch them it's like entering a parallel universe of delicious low-budget evil weirdness, and young Mojica Marins' performance is totally compelling. But for anyone interested in his other films I have to say avoid 'Embodiment Of Evil' like the plague; it's truly abysmal and quite sad to see a once so resourceful and innovative filmmaker stoop so low.

May 6, 2012 - Didn't Coffin Joe announce Sepultura show in Sao Paulo in 2005? ;)
Joswwar Says:
May 12, 2012 - Shut the fuck up!Have you seen more then 10 brazilian films to asure that?
ricarleite Says:
May 12, 2012 - I have. I'm from Brazil.
Joswwar Says:
May 12, 2012 - So why you are criticizing your own culture like this thats not true.Nós temos nossa própria cultura cinematrográfica!
ricarleite Says:
May 13, 2012 - No. I am not. If you paid attention to my comment, you'll see I am not criticizing our local movie industry. I am stating that, in the United States, there is a richer culture and literature related to horror, that goes back to Europe's traditions. It is embbeded in the popular culture. Look at Halloween, for instance, and look how popular the universal monsters and horror films are in north america. In Brazil, this tradition does not exist. That's all I'm saying. You OBVIOUSLY did not understand
douguk2 Says:
May 21, 2012 - O @ricarleite está certo. Sorry guys. I'm lazy so go to google transator if you want to know what I post up there.
HomingMissiles Says:
May 23, 2012 - I'm inclined to agree. However it may also be a case of our film industry overlooking our own potential for creating interesting horror movies. Brazil is a deeply religious, vastly christian country, a unique mix-up of african, european and - to a lesser degree - asian traditions. We are no strangers to the supernatural way of thinking, and I think that would make for some very interesting horror movies. Ofc, it takes talent, vision and resources.
