May 1, 2012 - each episodes of halo legends takes place in multiple events during the human-covenant warso im not sure however the one about daisy (the red spartan with the CQB helmet) took place just a year before halo wars (since that episode was during the harvest campaign)

May 7, 2012 - -_- seriously? The USA isn't even around by the time Halo takes place. Earth and its colonies are run by the UEG (United Earth Governmnet). The UNSC is the UEG's military arm and they took over during the war. UNSC Marines are stationed on the ships of the UNSC Navy and the UNSC Army patrols planets and fights on the ground. NOBLE Team and 80% of the regular humans you fight alongside in Reach are with the UNSC Army.

The only time you encounter UNSC Marines are when you are boarding the Corvette in Long Night of Solace, securing an LZ for Keyes' Pelican in Pillar of Autumn and whenever ODST's appear in the campaign seeing as they are with NAVSPECWAR. These guys are with Army Special Forces. Look it up on the Halo wiki.
