May 14, 2012 - Von Hindenburg was president not chancellor. And he appointed Hitler and Goering. How that is democratic I have no idea. Hitler took advantage of the unrest and took power. He used the communists as an excuse to arrest anyone who opposed him. All the unrest was the result of hyper inflation, unemployment, ect.. all of which he blamed on the communists and the jews. The Nazis only got 30% of the votes in the election they had. The winner of the vote proved ineffective.
